Anyone collect or have em?

I only have 2 right now - HG Wing Zero and Deathscythe from Gundam Wing.

If I had more money I'd get higher grade model kits...

I'd buy some Veritechs and more Gundams.
Clix

Some questions....

Why'd you give up modeling?

I was wondering besides just clipping the pieces together, do you use like glue or putty or adhesives for the pieces? What kinda of paint and painting materials do you use to give it more detail?

I'd like to see more of the Gundams and the other Macross models you have.
Take Five

Why Did I Give Up? , Don't Have the time , i work 5 or 6 days a week and get 1 or 2 days off and on those days
im helping my mother with stuff and probably out with my gf or helping her with English
i guess you could say.. it will take me a month or more to finnish one Kit.. regardless of size or grade
id probably fit an hour into working on one if i want to perfect it

the stuff i use?
- Paints.. mostly Tamiya arcrylic , since its water solluable , but i will use Enamel paints(Mr Gundam Color Paints) if i cant get the colour i want
- I use Hand Paintbrushes and "Mr Hobby Pro Airbrush Kit Mk4"
- Glue? Just Tamiya Thin Plastic Glue , If Something Wont Stick
- Seam Lines? you can Use Tamiya Putty , but its Messy.. or you can use a certain Super Glue which melts them together and you can sand it off
- Panel Lining? Gundam Markers
- Sand Paper/File? 600 Grit Sand Paper , you can use a Nail File , or Even a Nail Buffer

if you got any other questions dont hesitate to ask smile.gif

MUGETSU
Anything you wanna sell? lol
Golden Zeta Gundam
^ what you looking for?

it probably be pre-built and not perfected lol
x-factor
1/144 Blast Impulse Gundam
1/144 Strike Impulse Gundam
1/144 Sword Impulse Gundam

^ Bought all 3 in the summer, broke them all.

1/100 Freedom Gundam that my friend gave to me (Okay he let me borrow it and didn't care for it much because one of the wings were snapped off) also trashed.

Used to have a 1/144 Gundam Leopard. My first one was a 1/144 Altron Gundam but parts kept breaking off (I was 9, haha)

I've been broke as of lately, so I haven't picked up any more model kits. For my birthday in the summer of 2006, a special person bought me the 1/100 Red Frame Gundam biggrin.gif

That was before I trashed the Freedom btw.

shortboy
I have the 1/144 Wing Zero and Wing Zero Custom as well as the 1/100 Wing Zero Custom. I've always wanted to buy the Perfect Grade for the Custom model but it costs $200 O_O....
Clix
^ You think that's expensive? Check out G-System kits. They're larger, more detailed, and can cost between $200 to $1000. They have one for $2000.

MUGETSU
^^ HOLY ****

I wish i was rich.

This one's like $2300

I'd buy this one...its around $370. Macross fan!

x-factor
Maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me last night, but I swear there was a zero added to the end of all the prices, meaning that the Zeong was $2100 instead of $210.

o___O

*Shakes his head*

Babycremepuff
That's hot. I didn't know there would be anyone into Gundam model making here. This is great.
Most of our paints are dried out and empty and the only place we know to get them is back in Japan.
I will put up pics of the ones I have next time I get. >_<

The zaku ones are real nice the ones that Golden Zeta Gundam had.
Was that desert zaku?
The last one we got was a gift that was from anime expo.
Golden Zeta Gundam
^ thats actually Rey Zu Barrels Zaku painted in Heines orangey colours

ever since then (last post)
ive been doing nothing with modelling
till like.. now.. got into Warhammer so im painting again
and saw a few rare Virtual On Kits at my anime store
just had to take them...

already built both of them , just painting them now , i'll show them later

still have 2 kits unfinnished/unbuilt(Macross Zero SV-51 and Gundam SeeD Sword Calamity)
darkbahamut
OH OH ME ME biggrin.gif

I have.... HG Destiny, HG Freedom, HG Strike Freedom, MG GP01, HG Exia and MG Zaku (forgot exact one, but its blue)
I'll get pics tmr.

Just a question of opinion. What do you think is better? HG 1/100? or HG 1/144? Personally, I'm starting to like 1/144. They're cheaper, takes us less space and they can actually stand under their own weight. My 1/100 Strike Freedom and Freedom are both falling backwards because of their wings T_T
Clix
HG 1/100, 1/100 usually has better articulation and detail. I haven't had a 1/144 back when I was a kid that I was pleased with. The level of detail just may as well be as detailed as MSIA figures. A remedy to such back heavy problems is figure stands.

Geez, I really need to finish my Ez8 Gundam. Ever since that rattle can of Model Master Racing Orange, I've lost all will to finish it. I sprayed it, and it sprayed clear and chunky.
Golden Zeta Gundam
HG 1/144 are better
if you're going to get 1/100 , get a master grade

HG 1/100 are crap due to my experiences really
1/100 Destiny was probably the closest thing to good
then they released HG 1/144 Destiny abit after and it was much better..

this also depends on what MS/Gundam it is

the HG 1/144 RX-79[G] Gundam is way better then its master grade counterpart

MUGETSU
GZGundam you play 40k?

I think I see GW paints haha

Golden Zeta Gundam
^ well during 2002-2004 i was into 40k
i had Steel Legion(Imperial Guard)
then i sort of left it , now since ive been playing Dawn Of War Dark Crusade
i got back into 40k..

now i have , TAU!!! haha For The Greater Good!!

you play to tongue.gif?

i'll post pics of my Tau and the 2 new Virtual On Kits I've Been Working On
MUGETSU
^^ Actually I bought a few fantasy stuff (High Elves) and painted them.

Haven't really played. Maybe I should buy some 40k stuff and actually start playing one day instead of just painting them (im not that good either lol).
h2obubbli
Really want the MG Hi-Nu Gundam

i got

MG 1/100 - MS-06j Zaku II
MG 1/100 - Gundam RX-78-02 ver.1.5

and a crappy ''hybrid'' MG+HG 1/100 model of - Gundam 00 Exia

i'll post pictures next time
darkbahamut
I'm not a fan of painting my Gundams. I only use the marker thing and outline the parts to make it stand out.
Kazen88
Hey, do most of you guys buy Gundams in your local anime/hobby stores or online? I used to buy mine from local stores but now that I'm in college... The local anime store sucks.
Any suggestions for good sites to buy from? Besides hlj.com or 1999.co.jp?
Golden Zeta Gundam
Anime stores in Sydney and Hobby Stores , they have large ranges
and not only gundam, but other companies and other kits which are hard to get
(e.g Armored Core Kits , Virtual On Kits) and more

forgetting to post the pics of the 2 Virtual On Kits , ill do it tomorrow ohmy.gif

hlj and 1999 are best sites at the moment
other sites sell at US Price not JPN yen price

bigger bargain with those 2 sites , i prefer 1999.co.jp though(only bought some AIR TV figures from them)
Golden Zeta Gundam
Keeping you guys updated on what Model Kits
will be available in future

Oooh, what's the one on the left? It looks interesting.
Millou
What does HG stand for?

I have 4 gundam 1/144 model kits. I still have to paint them though. Is it ok to just use acrylic paint?
