Oh God, a Buffy thread. You'll have to excuse me, I'm sort of crazy when it comes to this show.

I started watching Buffy and got obsessed with it when I was 10, and still am till this day. It's my favorite show ever.

I get defensive when people put it down. I loved all the seasons, and it bugs me when people complain about the later seasons, because I don't think they realize how important they were.

I think my favorite seasons are the middle 3. 3, 4 & 5. Hmm.. maybe I'll try to rank them. 5, 4, 3, 2, 6, 7, 1. Mayyybeee. They're all very close though. If I was lazy and didn't want to think about it I'd just they they're all my favorite season.

Some of my favorite episodes are The Gift (s.5), Grave (s.6), The Zeppo (s.3), Becoming pt. 1&2 (s.2), Surprise (s.2), Hush (s.4), among many others. The show just has so many great episodes, characters and quotes as well. I think Willow & Xander are my favorite characters. I'll always be a Buffy/Angel fan, but unlike most other people like me I actually didn't mind Spike & Buffy. The only characters I still, do this day dislike are Riley & Kennedy. Dawn actually grew on me after a few years, even though some of her "I'm not human and no one loves me" storylines still kind of get on my nerves.

Some episodes still make me cry, laugh and even creep me out (Conversations With Dead People, anyone?)

Now I feel like watching some Buffy..

^ Conversations with Dead People is such an awesome episode..the storyline is creative and the ghosts/demons in the the episode did alot of creeping out..
I'm one who is also defensive of the show...it was very clever, funny and had good emotion filled episodes..the acting was good, the writing was good and even the music rocked. It is my favorite show and not many other shows come close to it or are as smart as it was.
and I agree, the seasons later get no respect. To be honest, I prefer seasons 4 and up since it deals with more of an adult life than the whole 1-3 season premise that "High School is Hell" and a big plus...Spike..who doesn't love that vamp?

I've read dozens of comments abt the show from other fansites and its rather amusing to see how the pendulum swings from one end to the other...some say season 7 is the show's best while some absolutely detests it...

i remembered once i tried watching them continued.. then my grandma walked in. and man she thought i was watchin "bad" stuff and started telling my mom.. mom ended up giving me lectures how i shouldnt be watching those things and stuff. @_@

Buffy was part of my childhood along with Charmed .. haha .. I've like so many of the books that were released together with the series .. That's near to 10 years? I like Xander ! He's sucha dork.
I used to hate Faith but I like Elza Dushku(sp?) now .. really miss seeing SMG fighting on screens.. inspired me to take up taekwondo and fight boys too . ahhaa .. now .. if only i can stake them too .. haaa

I remember the days when I would study each episode after watching - the different monsters, the ever-so-witty dialogues... the list just goes on. I remember how I had to wake up at 3am (for one whole season) to watch the repeat show cos I couldn't watch the tv when it was shown at prime time.

Yeah, I was indeed obsessed. I'd relate my life to the show in any ways I could.

i love buffy..my fave character is oz..too bad things didn't work for them with willow..they used to be my fave couple..

This was one of the smartest shows back in the day. Even if there were a lot of supernatural elements, they made each character so down to earth and easy to relate to. How Buffy was once a popular girl with an identity and how she became a freak.... Willow, Xander.... the consistent portrayal of each character and how they grow and develop -- very natural. I miss it. I totally missed the last season when it moved to UPN because UPN didn't work at my house.

i LOVE buffy! enjoyed all the seasons. the show was funny and witty with some freaky supernatural elements.

I had to watch an episode of Buffy in philosophy class yesterday.

i used to watch this show a lot too. where's the hott vampire with ughh...white hair. the one who had a huge crush on Buffy. lol..he was good looking.

Is it still on? I try to watch it but it's never on anymore, not even reruns. I'm like desperate to see S2 again. Esp Becoming 1&2 since I really need to tear up again.

Spike. Yah, I liked the evil Spike better. He's hilarious and def had some of the best/witty dialogues. Spike with a soul is just....creepy. Spike/Buffy made me vomit. I like him with Dru. Now that's a hot couple. Too bad.

FX shows reruns weekdays at 7am. That's the only time. =( They actually start showing S2 tomorrow. I wish another channel would show them. I would say TNT since they show like 3 episodes of Charmed a week, but they cut back airing the reruns of Angel to 6am and 7am. o_O

I have seasons 3 & 4 on DVD.. I really need to buy the other ones. I don't need to buy S5 yet though cause my bro has it so I can just borrow it.

I think Imma buy S2 next. I love Becoming 1&2, the end of the second one always makes me tear up too.

Riley was never my favorite. I was glad he didn't look down that dang helicopter. LOL.
I didn't like Dawn either. When she first came in, I was like, "WTF!?!?! Who is she?" And then the whole story about her came in.
I wasn't a fan of Kennedy either. I wished her and Willow didn't have a thing for each other. =P Tara didn't seem to be in the show that long. I don't even know what happened to her.

I loved their musical episode. I forgot what it was called but I loved the dancing and singing. LOL.
The scariest episode for me was probably the ones with the Gentlemen. Those things creeped me out.

That was the 7th season. I never liked Kennedy either. Willow loved Tara. =( Kennedy and Riley are probably the only two regular or recurring characters that I still dislike. I didn't like Dawn for like 5 years, but last year I re-watched the 3 seasons she was in and it made me like her. I liked the relationship between her and Buffy. Her whole "I'm not human, no one loves me" storylines still irritate me, but I think they were necessary for future episodes. Plus overall, I'd say her acting was rather good. It's just that her character was really annoying sometimes. And she has such an annoying scream. >_o

FX used to show Buffy like.. FOUR times a day like a year and a half ago. I remember when I woke up at 6, there was Buffy. And again at 7.

Kennedy just swooped in and was like wth. After S3 I didn't really watch Buffy, just randomly whenever it's on so I'm a bit there and here with the whole plot. I couldn't stand Tara at first because I seriously loved the Willow/Oz relationship. But later accepted her because yah, Tara was Willow's true love. I think she was just in a dark place after Tara's death hence the whole sexual thing with Kennedy. *Shudders* You know, Willow and Xander would make a nice lasting couple. Hahaha. Didn't like the Anya thingy, he was really cute with Cordy though.

Kennedy and Riley was the worst. I don't remember but what was Riley's reason for leaving again? My fav scene = Angel kicking Riley's ass. =D

Oh, I loved Willow + Oz too. But I thought the actresses who played Willow & Tara had great chemistry and it really added to their relationship. Plus, Alyson Hannigan (Willow) is a really good actress to boot, so like when Glory sucked out Tara's brains in S5 and when Tara died in S6, you could just feel how much Willow loved her. I loved Anya, but I'm also a fan of the Xander/Cordy relationship. I loved "The Prom" in S3 after they had already broken up and were on not-so-great terms, Cordy couldn't afford the dress she wanted for prom so Xander bought it for her. <3

In a nutshell, Riley left because he was a crybaby lol. He felt inferior to Buffy and even though she did, he felt like she didn't love him. The whole storyline was sort of built up over the first half of the 5th season then ended with him deciding to leave.


Nope. Spike came back to Sunnydale in early S4 of Buffy to get the ring and failed. Then he was on Angel (on the same night- Buffy & Angel used to come on back-to-back) and went to LA to get it and failed again. After a couple weeks of not seeing him, he reappeared at the end of a Buffy episode and that's when the initiative took him & put the chip in his head.

Seriously, if you have anymore questions, just ask. I'm like a Buffy fiend.

Alyson was amazing. Did you see the actress who was supposed to play Willow in the unaired ep/pilot? What a joke! I'm glad they re-casted Alyson. For some reason I always thought she was gonna turn lesbian after the ep Doppelgangland but was in denial because I love Oz. I can't believe that Alyson is married to Alexis Denisof though. =D It's so weird since I can never picture Willow and Wesley together.

That scene was sweet. I kinda wish Xander and Cordy didn't break up though but she was incredibly cute with Doyle so that's alright. Joss Whedon is evil. Ugh. I'm glad Riley left, I was so tempted to smash my screen. It seems that Buffy didn't really love him imo but then again she treats all her bf like crap. I really didn't like Buffy in S4, she was like this total pinkberry and the way she handled the whole Faith thing. Angel seriously needs to stop brooding so much and apologize all the time when it isn't his fault. =/

Wow, I'm on a Buffy spasm tonight. lol, I just watched the first episode and it scares me how Buffy, from a flirty, happy-go-lucky girl turned into this ice cold woman in the end that it's a pain to just be like around her.

Last ques, for now. =D Did it say how Joyce died? and where in the name of Pluto did Dawn come from? She's Buffy sister right? so....where was she before S5? and she was never ever mentioned.

Joyce died from a brain tumor. She was battling it throughout like the first half of S5. Then she had some operation done where they thought she'd be ok. A few episodes later she died suddenly due to complications from it.

Lol.. Dawn.. kind of hard to explain I guess. I know you said you didn't see all the episodes, right? I don't think I'll do a very good job of explaining it, so it's probably better if you just watch all of the 5th season lol. They pretty much explain everything nicely throughout the course of that season. I'll give it a shot anyway:

Dawn technically wasn't human. There was this thing, you see, not like an object or anything.. it was like a supernatural force or a ball of energy or something, called "the key". I forget all of it's functions exactly, but I know that Glory needed it in S5 to open the portal to hell (which was the big villain story arc in S5). A group of monks knew that she needed it and what she'd do with it, and that they couldn't stop her, so they made the key into a human; Dawn. They made it Buffy's sister because they knew she'd protect it/her and she was the only one who could. Dawn didn't know this because she looked and functioned like every other human. Fake memories were put in the minds of everyone who would've been in contact with Dawn when she was created (presumably at the end of S5 ep.1, which is when we first see her), including Dawn herself. Buffy and co. remember Dawn existing pre-S5. Xander and everyone remember Joyce, Buffy AND Dawn moving to Sunnydale 4 years prior to when she was created. Of course it didn't actually happen, we know that Dawn didn't exist then, and we know that she didn't exist until the 5th season. Everyone finds out eventually in S5, but Buffy remembers being part of Dawns entire life, and she and everyone else have all these memories, so even though they know they're fake, they feel real. So the rest of the series they went on as if the memories did happen, because that's the only way they remember certain things happening.

It was a lot to swallow at first, with the fake memories and whatnot. But Buffy was always a well-written show so even when they did something as extreme as this, they made it work. I still enjoy watching seasons 1-4 without Dawn, when it was just the "original" gang, but I also like seasons 5-7 with Dawn, because I liked the relationship between her and Buffy and how Dawn's character developed.

And Anya had sex with Spike because Xander had just broken her heart (left her at the altar), so she did it to make him jealous, and she knew Spike would do it, I guess. Probably because she figured well he's a vampire, he's a badass, so why not. Plus he was lovesick over Buffy.

But that is kind of extreme, the thing with Dawn, I mean I couldn't see how it could've worked, with everything that happened and all. Was their memories of everything that happened still correct then? only with the addition of Dawn. So Dawn has all these memories too? Wacky stuff. Haha. I like 1-3. It was a simpler time.

I remember Spike getting the mini cooper kicked out of him by Glory, I assume she wanted him to tell her who was the Key? Oh yah, Ben was Glory right?

i loved this show especially the first 2 seasons... i remember watching it as a kid, i was like 10 or 11? one of the best shows in the '90s

Man, i hate the fact that the Buffy and Angel relationship is up to the audience's interpretation. I was so hardbroken when they split up at the end of season 3. it's so sad for such a beautiful relationship to not be together. i wanted Buffy to make an appearance at the end of Angel.

Buffy was supposed to appear in the 100th episode of Angel "You're Welcome" in the last season to get Angel back on track, but due to SMG's scheduling conflict filming The Grudge in Tokyo, she couldn't make it so they used Charisma Carpenter (Cordy) instead.

As my memory recalls, Buffy was mentioned towards the very end of the Angel series "The Girl in Question" where it was revealed that she was under some spell and dating the Immortal who had a threesome with Dru and Darla in the past. Haha.

but i heard and read alot about how everyone seems to have sex with everyone or smth...i guess its part of 'growing up?' i mean the scoobies did grow from little high-schoolers to full-fledged college students... i just completed season 1 and 'love' in btvs was still a non-sexual word lol...but i think its really romantic^^
