I am so excited about this movie! I just finished reading the novel, and it's so quirky and fun.
I have to admit that I wasn't able to picture Scarlett Johansson as Annie Braddock, but I've gotten used to the idea. After watching the trailer and looking at the photo stills, I think she's going to be awesome in the movie! I'd always thought of her as the blonde bombshell type, but it's pleasantly surprising how normal and cute she seems.
I hope the movie doesn't mutilate the novel, but I have a feeling it'll be great.
...and I LOVE Chris Evans (from Fantastic Four) as the Harvard Hottie.

Hmmmm..... I'll watch this for Scarlett.... was never interested in the book though because I was never really interested in the writing style of the authors... I had read one of their other books and wasn't really that impressed...

this was one of my favorite books as a teenager... i think they made the right decision casting scarlett and chris (lolol perfect score, anyone?) but it seems they also made a lot of changes, starting with the character's name, and, it seems, the focus of the storyline itself... oh well, i hope it'll still be enjoyable to watch...

that's who i pictured when i read the novel too. she just seems more plausibly earnest and i think the whole gorgeous-but-possibly-gawky thing works for the nan character too. scarlett johansson is okay... i liked her a lot in "lost in translation"... not so much in other movies. laura linney as mrs. X will be AWESOME, though.

scarlett is a great actress, but the way they decided to adapt it, the changes they made... they didn't do it for me. i don't know, i expected to be very emotionally involved in the nanny-grayer relationship, as i was when i read the book. i was heartbroken when nanny had to left in the book, but watching the movie i didn't care as much. i just wanted her to get out of there and get with harvard hottie asap (and they put a LOT more emphasis on this relationship than they ever did in the book, which also didn't feel right). i don't wanna sound like a purist, cos i'm really not, it's just they didn't have great character or narrative development and i don't think they captured the whole nannying experience from the right angle... anthropology? really? don't get me wrong, it's a cute movie, but in the end i think it was trying to be too many things and ended up being nothing beyond a cute movie.

i loved the book so much that i read it twice! its really too bad that the movie is getting horrible reviews, as weary as i am about adaptations, i was actually looking forward to this one.
alot of people have commented that scarlett johansson is not very sutible for this type of role, i havent seen the film yet but i think she's definetely at her best as sort of worldweary-beyond-her-years, sarcastic and wry type characters. she should leave the earnest and brighteyed types for anne hathaway.

Just saw it yesterday.
It's entertaining.
Totally love Havard Hottie. =]
Scarlett was really good in the movie. I thought it'd be weird at first with Scarlett and the whole nanny thing, but it turned out pretty good.
Good comedy movie, too bad there weren't much romance. They look cute together.

I haven't read the book so I don't know if it's any good but I wasn't really impressed with the movie. The intro was a bit weird so it took me awhile to get into it and I felt like the Nanny-Grayer relationship was just a tad awkward. I don't know.. for me, The Nanny Diaries was just so-so.

Why am I hearing so many bad things about this movie? Is it just because the book-lovers are making comparisons?!
I rented it, but I'm kinda bummed out because everyone told me it's not that good. Oh well.
Can someone tell me if Chris Evan comes out a lot in the movie, since he doesn't in the book?

i haven't read the book ... the movie was okay. i adore the little boy but i don't think scarlett was right for the role though. she wasn't charismatic enough for me.

^ Oh good, Chris Evans is so hot !
I don't know, I don't have a problem with Scarlett being cast as the nanny, maybe I'm biased because she's one of my favorite actresses, lol.
I'm just surprised how plain she can look. I guess she's the type who can pull off both plain/awkward and stunningly gorgeous whatever she feels like. Like Anne Hathaway.

I just watched this, and it was enjoyable to watch! Probably because I had nothing better to do, and I was watching it on the small screen.
I'll have to admit that the story seemed a little underdeveloped at times, but overall it was a pleasant chic flick. I just wish the movie paid more attention to the nanny-kid relationship.. It didn't really show HOW they got so close, rather seemed to focus on the mother and her problems with the husband. After all, it is supposed to be a NANNY story. I didn't really care for the kid at all.
Impressed with Scarlett. She can pull off any role seriously. This movie especially proved that she doesn't always have to play a sex goddess or a sultry love interest type character. Was surprised by how innocent she looked and acted.
