SALLY'S EXPERIENCE
Okay.. I know its really short, but i was in cheer for 1 1/2 years. I LOVED it. Stunting is sooooo much fun & so are the cheers and dances.
I was a lot of different positions for stunting. [base, back, front, & of course spotter (; ]
At USA ucsd cheer camp, the theme was gangster. hahahaha. it was sooo much fun. We were actually the only middle school at a high school camp ^^
We won a LOT of good raiting award, spirit stick 3x's, and the overall spirit award plague
Cheer was a realllly good experience and I miss it sooo much... I can't do it now.. cause at GHS.. it's just a bit too expensive ;o;

are you talking about just cheerleaders in general or the ones who went to those camps?

How did you like the experience? love cheer; i made alot of new friends, learned how to stunt, and i just love performing infront of others

What was the theme to the cheer camp you attended? Did you enjoy it? i went to NCA camp and the theme was pirates. loveeeed the camp!

what did you do with your old uniforms? i keep my old uniform in the back of my closet since we got new ones this year.

Nuts. I think my uniform will bring me lots&lots of memories, so yeahh~ ^^

i looved cheerleading
i did park district cheerleading in 8th grade and went to my first two competitions ever. i sucked back then T__T but i learned everything here.
then in fresh-soph year, i did allstar cheerleading, i'm a flyer and i stunted alot more.
then for senior year, i cheerleaded for winter season.

i think cheerleading is reallie fun, i made lot's of friends & learned new stuff.
and now i'm debating whether i should cheerlead for college or not...
since the min. requirements is a flipflop, and i've never tumbled before T__T

we had to return all our uniforms,
but i have all my bodysuits haha, three random bodysuits, oh and my spankiess =)

and btw. cheerleading IS a sport.
come to one of our practices, and it's not
running around, yelling chants, being cute, ohh it's SO much more.

I loved it lol. Being the attention getter during basketball season...it brought confidence.

I mean, you could see the joy on my face walking down the school halls in my uniform on game days lol.

Probably the best time of my high school year....now that i'm in college, i haven't the time to do it again.....but i would love to lol.

Oh Cheerleading is definately a sport....more dangers i think than other sports.

What was that quote during camp? Oh yea...If Cheerleading got any easier, it would be called football....lol

We don't keep our uniforms. But we just bought new ones!!!! So exciting.



HELL YEAH CHEER IS A SPORT.
I mean.. I've play other sports like soccer & lacrosse, so I am totally being honest when I say cheer is a sport! We might not run as much, but routines w/ stunts. My freaking gosh, they're annoying.
In most other sports, bruises aren't so often (except maybe field hockey or lacrosse) but in cheer... that's all I see... bruises on everyone. Blah I hate when people say that it isn't a sport..
(Yes some people portray it as if it's not a sport.)
But when it comes to stunts, routines, & motions. (AND we have to RUN & YELL and do stunts at the same time.. ugh)

Yeah... I got out of practice a few hours ago and letting it all out... ahhahaha




I have a couple questions:

What is the hardest stunt you've ever done?

wowww cheerleading, I love it with a passion.

I was captain of my squad last year, but taking a break this year away from it.

But now that I see the cheerleaders, I miss it terribly.

I was a flyer, and I twisted my ankle because I fell from a basket toss.

The hardest stunt I believe we've done was a liberty to a heel strech to a arbesque than finally a scorpian. Ending with a triple full down.

Omgee.

& possibly backflip basket tosses.

Those hurt like a mother.

i quit this year tho :[ not enough time for practises...

i'm 5'7, so i was obviously a base. (unless i lost 20 pounds, i could never be a top, lol)

o man CHEEEEEEEER, i miss it so much. cheer was definitely a life changing time, i was the first one of my (extended) family to be a cheerleader and i became so much more confident about myself . looking back, i should've join it earlier but i did it for two years, junior and senior year. i am the smallest person, 5'0 90lbs, so it made sense i was a flyer. i loveee being a flyer, its definitely fun and you're the eye candy lol. it can be painful and can be the most grope person too. hmm i went to nca and uca? camps, i dont remember the theme but it was fun. the first year, i remember while all the other squads are cute and girly for costumes, my squad and i became football players with do-rags, fun times lol.

my old uniforms........they're tuck in the back of my closet. maybe i'll use it for halloween one of these years, otherwise its a waste of hundreds of dollars for those uniforms : . i just need to cover the '06 on my skirt....man i'm getting old.
