Hellooo!

Last year my mom bought me a Creative Zen Vision:M
my family doesn't have alot of money, so I was really happy ...
but the mp3 player is really big so when I'm @ school I walk around
with it in my hands (since I do not have a shirt and only one pair of jeans with big pockets...)
Since I often forget I'm holding my mp3 player, I drop it all the time. ><
Last week I was listening to it and I thought the mp3 looked a bit odd..
Anyway, i was able to open it (so i could see all the things inside)... O_O
The player still works, but I told my mom and she's disappointed....

How long did you use your mp3 until you got a new one?
Did it break or did you just want a new one?

I drop my cellphone alot too.... =____=''''' I need to buy a bag to have all my stuff in....

my last ipod died. like, 3 times. so i got a replacement 3 times. haha, then i just ended up using my mom's because she doesn't really use it...

and my mp3 player before the ipod, it still works now, and i still use it sometimes... but it's 256mb, so i can only put a few songs on it. =_=
Melitus
I got two mp3w player both are pretty cheap and both still works like a charm. One is a 256 mb while the other is 1 gb hahahha...wanted to get an ipod or something that plays movies as well.
awdark
You can always get one of those lower capacity cheap flash based ones. In terms of MP3 players I have had a MP3 cd player then my zen micro for the last 2 years.

Im tired of it and waiting for a good opportunity but I think ill keep my zen micro for a while until it breaks... =\ probably never becasue I rarely abuse it.
bonbons
my first mp3 i only used for a few months then i gave it away to get my ipod. my ipod lasted a year. now i have a sandisk sansa e250 series for only 9months. and i also have an ipod nano but i haven't used it yet haha XD
Doctor 李
I've had my Zen Micro mp3 player since freshman year in 2004 I think. It's been three years and it's still playing well. lol

^ you must be rich o.O

creative is awesome that it still works. my friend can open his up too (dropped it a few times).
I only replaced it when my first mp3 player broke (it's by some company that no longer exists). I think i have my current mp3 player for a little over 2 years now? I was really picky about it and i still love it (it's an iriver, a bit bulky but no where else did i find battery life for 45 hours that had great sound quality + playlist... i didn't want an ipod like everyone else)

^I'm not rich,, just really stupid =__=lol

I still have and use my 4G iPod daily in my car, home and going outdoors. Had it since early 2005. Prior to that, I had my MiniDisc recorder, which also handled MP3s via NetMD.

i got my ipod i think during the winter of 2004 and it just stopped working during the summer of 2007

Creative Nomad Jukebox NX 2003 - Not exactly comfortable when wearing jeans and it was heavier than my wallet so I sold that.
Creative Zen Micro 2004 - Battery died out and I couldn't find a replacement battery anywhere local so kept this at home and a week later...
iPod Nano 2nd Gen Dec 2006 - Lightweight mp3 player and great when on the go. I did manage to finally find a replacement battery for my Zen Micro just last month and still use it with my X360 to play music throughout the apartment. cool.gif

i didn't exactly get a new one, but because it really bugged the crap out of me because the battery and memory was just annoying me, i switched from my iPod mini to my iPod shuffle in... 3 years? i realised i could have used my shuffle instead of my mini, so i switched it this year. i still use my mini, i just store my songs on there and use my adaptor whenever i want to listen from my mini. most of the time i use my shuffle, now.
Nuguya?
until I get enough money to buy one and my new old one is almost dying from being used too much lol.. I have backups though.. like right now.. I have the YP-T9 and the old gen 30GB iPod(2nd or 3rd?), I just switch depending on where I'm going..

once I see that the new iPod is like the iPhone except it isn't a phone, then I'm going to save up some money for it unless samsung made almost something to it and cheaper then I'll buy that lol..
fullhouse.forever
my samsung mp3 i only used it for nearly a year.. then my sis got me a new mp3 biggrin.gif
sentuhmentalfo0l
i got my ipod for my 16th birthday
and then i got a new one when i started college smile.gif

I had a 30gb ipod that I used for about a year and a half but I couldn't fit all my music on it so I upgraded to a 80gb ipod about 4 months ago and gave my 30gb ipod to my sister.
thatguy
i got a iriver h10 for christmas two years ago and it was pretty decent. 4 months later i went to camping and it dropped in the water and died. then after a couple of months i needed another mp3 player but couldnt afford the good ones so i bought a sansa express 1gb. that player was crap right from the get go, it would freeze up and there was no reset button so i had to wait til the batteries died out so i could charge it and turn it back on again. then like one day it just stopped working. finally my bro gave me his creative zen: m and thats what i got right now. i love it.
juhjuh
I've had my Zen Micro for a few years now.
Wanted to upgrade but in the end I decided I still love it too much lol.
Though the colourless screen is kinda embarrassing xD
メリーゴーランド
ipod nano for a year and a half
and it's working fine
sushii_x3
I still have my first mp3. It's a Dell DJ. I brought it to school and all my friends were like OMG IT'S SO AWESOME. I'm like haha. no. I bet I'm the only one who has it in the Sacramento region. >__> Makes me unique though. xD I've had it since 6th grade. & I'm a Freshie now? xD It still works good.

Ohh mann. My mp3 is so retarded right now. It turns off by itslef after like. 10 minutes. Which is fine. so when I'm sleeping, I usually put my mp3 on and I'm too lazy to turn it off, it turns off by itself. But then I don't really like it like that. xD And it freezes sometimes. So ihave to drain the battery till it dies and then charge it again. & If I hit the "Play all" button, Only half my songs plays. And if I pusht he home button, I can't go back unless I manually do it. Which really annoys me. Ahha. That's what I get for buying a really cheap mp3. But I still love it so much smile.gif
bitter SOOweet
i had a mp3 from korea (i forget the brand now >_<)
then i had a hello kitty mp3 and i used that for a few months
then i had a samsung yepp' mp3 for i think a year
then i discovered ipod
and i've had my video ipod for... hm
1 year and a half so far.
ichiban
ive owned 3 (technically 1 is actually a PMP) mp3 players so far. I usually get a new one within 2-3 years i'm not that big about it. I love phones more XD. Currently have a pmp so I'm not really looking for any mp3 players at the moment.
hireshi
I had an old Play-It MP3. Which I had for about two years before I bought the newest of the iPods.
hanako
i got my ipod mini in the summer 2004 (right when it first came out in canada!), back when there were only a few people using ipods. gosh that was a while ago.

although it is quite outdated (bigger than the new versions, no colour screen, weaker battery life), i changed the battery twice (costing me $20 each time) and it still works so i'm still using it. smile.gif it's my little baby. it was my first mp3 player.
charzzy
i used my previous ipod mini for about 2year plus before switching over to my new ipod u2 video. loving it. smile.gif
little mixed girl
i got my first mp3 player in 2004 i think....
it has 128mb, and i put in a 30mb memory card.

kfreak
i got 2 new mp4 player this year..
i have a 3 year old mp3 player..

kayem7289
I bought a 1st gen 4 gb iPod nano last year in...April I believe.
Then I bought a new iPod video this July, and not because my nano wasn't working, it was just because I didn't have enough room for more songs.
So I gave away my nano...I miss it already, I don't like carrying my video iPod around since it's not as easy to shove into my pocket.
PowerPopJon
uhhh my first was this small rca mp3 player that was hecka ghetto with 128 mb
then it broke cos i left it in my backpack
and i dont handle my backpack carefully
thennnn i got those super bulky creative zen like a 4 months after
then i sold it 3 months later and got an ipod photo
that broke like a couple months after the warranty expired
then 6 months later i got an ipod shuffle
and 2-3 months later my cousin got me a creative zen photo sleek

hahhaha rarely use the creative zen
but now that im in college im more prone to use it
to record my class lectures :]
FirstTheWorst
Uhh...I had my crappy ass Sandisk for two years until I accidentally washed it.

I have had my Nano...which is alright...for about nine/ten months now.
cocoa
I have an iriver h10 Junior (only available in Korea I think) and I've had it for 2 years now. I've probably dropped it a million times but it still works very well, so I guess I'll keep it until I can get a Cowon.
qutiepye4

My Sansa e270 got washed and dried in the laundry couple days ago. It still work perfectly fine except for the screen, it's dampened and looks like grease is in there. It would have been a year in November since I owned it. Now I just use it in my car with a fm transmitter.

So, I'm on a look out for a small PMP type of players. Like the new Samsung one, Creative Zen one, and the Sansa View(although I probably won't get since they don't support unicode!).
chula
i'm on my second ipod.
i used my 4th gen ipod for more than a year. then i got the 2nd gen nano - because i wanted a lighter mp3 player.

ixbebe.
i had an ipod for a little under a year and then i tripped on the USB cord and it cracked, so then i got a replacement. haha~

Ive gone thru about 6 mp3 players and am on my 7th. I bought every one of those with my own money earned from my jobs. None of them were iPods, I just don't want to buy those. I use it mostly for my night job sorting boxes and around machinery. Because of this dangerous environment, sometimes the players are prone to being broken.

On avg, each lasts abt 7-9 months. But there were a couple that were defective and crapped out at around the 1-2 month mark and a couple I let my sister use for a while.

But if your mom spent her own money to buy it for you and it still technically works then I think you should appreciate her sacrifice and stay with that one. In situations like your family's, little sacrifices by every member are necessary here and there.

Just wait till you start earning your own money and you can buy as many as you want. biggrin.gif

^ Goodness, what kind of crappy mp3 players were you using? huh.gif

My first mp3 player was a 128MB iRiver, which lasted me less than a year. That crappy thing's power/play/stop button just stopped working. It wouldn't click.

Then I got a 3G 15gig iPod (the ancient one with no color, and the four buttons above the scrolling wheel). I've had that one since summer 2004. I'm still using it, but now that the new Nanos are out, I might get one soon.
emma_fifth
i don't really change it. i bought my ipod like 2 years ago and i'm still using it. then i bought another mp4 and my sis bought another one, but still using the ipod.
DEEM
MP3s don't last very long with me before I replace them. I replace them as if it was a hobby. haha

In the past 6 years or so.. I've had a Sony MD, some iRiver flash mp3 player, creative muvo, creative zen micro, ipod mini, and .. i'm currently using a creative zen v plus.

mehh.. i just get bored of them and I replace. =|

- My 1st one was so long ago I dont even remember, but it may have been made by Creative. (First mp3 player they ever made?...not sure) Bought it around the time Sony had their first mp3 player (Walkman blue colored that ate batteries) It worked GREAT for a couple months up until I smashed it in my pocket against machinery at work.
- Another was a Rio that just crapped out on me within 3 months I think. This was still WAY back...around the time those "sporty" mp3 players came out that you could strap onto your arm. (Nike came out with a similar themed player at the time)
- Had an iRiver that I loved for about 7-8 months up until the buttons stopped working. It was flash memory with only 128 mb. Had that joystick method of buttons. Again, may have been their first or second line of mp3 players.
- A couple generic brand mp3 players bought for cheap from Hong Kong that I used with my sister.
- Sandisk Sansa e250 that crapped out on me within 1 month of purchase. It wouldn't let me add anymore music onto it. I took it back to BestBuy and the clerk said SO MANY people were returning that player for so many reasons. I also read some very shady reviews regarding its dependability recently so it looks like they havent fixed that problem very well.
- Creative Zen Micro Photo 8 gb player that just worked great up until the point when I dropped it just once....and then the touchpad controls no longer worked. Had this for about 8 months until then. The only annoying thing about it was the UBER SENSITIVE touchpad controls which resulted in me over scrolling the menu. Good luck I actually bought a warranty for this one....got all $200 back (tax included).
- Currently with a refurbed iRiver T10 (?) 512mb bought off eBay. Works fantastic. Paid $20 s/h included. Happy if it works for at least 6 months....cus I kno I might crush it someday at work.

I might have forgotten 1 player...not sure.
xasdfx
a year or two i think i had my samsung one for.
but the navigation part broke a couple of months after -.-
now i just got new one in may.
AiriinxKumori
i had a 30 gb ipod and i lost it cuz i was in a rush to meet some jerk of a guy friend that brought his girlfriend and cried my eyes when i got home and found out it was lost. i suffered music withdrawal without a mp3 players for almost 3 months until my dad let me borrow a temporary one and christmas i got an 80 gb video ipod.
mzbabeexddork
i got my ipod mini as a hand-me-down sometime in 2005. the battery life sucked, but i got a replacement, so now it lasts almost 6 hours. the battery life isn't as great as everything now, but it's WAY better than 30 minutes. it's been almost 3 years and i'm deeply attached to it.
STEPHOO--
i've had my ipod nano for a little less than a year, and i'm thinking of getting the new one. I'm running out of space. lol.
