I just made this like the '08 seniors where they can talk about the stresses/excitement/drama..... (XD).... and get help and support from other sophomores....

So yeah, I'm a sophomore and it's actually pretty good, better than freshman year =>..... Right now I'm stressing about track... need to get better if I want to letter again XD

But I just started high school, since in my area, high school is three years instead of four.

It's not hard YET, but it's just that I HATE French class, because I'm in French 20 IB, and our teacher speaks fluent French to us.

And as for English, my teacher is sooo overdramatic, and she totally talks like she's about to cry at a funeral or something.

Lol. Well my English teacher spontaneously bursts into random songs.... like "Like A Virgin" 0_o.... The man's like 50... and he's reminiscing about the good ol' times XD

I'm freaking loving sophomore year! My schedule is sooo easy. For this trimester at least. I have band, us history, guitar, choir, and algebra 2. In that order. lol. Three out of five of my classes are in the same classroom. ^__^ I love it. I'm just worried about the next tri though. It's all gonna come crashing down on me.

My English teacher's so corny! I want my old one back, but he doesn't teach Sophmore english =\
My Spanish 2 teacher is getting on my nerves so bad, I have no idea how am I going to get through a year with like a 59 year old lady that keeps "keeping" her hair back with her hands every 5 minutes -________-;;
My honors history teacher just piles work like it's nothing. He's so dull too. I am going to die in that class of boredom if things don't pick up (Cannot imagine have AP Euro with him x.x)
My Algebra 2 teacher is ok, I can stand her.
The chem teacher is driving me nuts. Something about her bugs me so bad. She can't teach either. I have no idea why she's the AP Chem teacher if she doesn't have faith in her students passing the test (my friend told me this since she has AP chem).

I hope this year won't be horrible as it is right now. I loved last year.

Man it really sucks when all your teachers suck.... that was what it was like in 8th grade for me... but y'know, it's just you move on and get through it... And suck up to them =P

Haha, at least your English teacher seems fun! Mine is so ugh, and she stands there talking to us for the whole class, and randomly asking people questions, so we have to pay attention.

i actually think class of 10 sounds pretty cool but people think it sounds stupid at least it sounds better than class of 13 or something.
not too excited about this year i had an awesome freshmen year and made alot of good memories along with new friends
but this year i dont have any classes with my close friends and i dont really like the people in my classes
my math teacher sucks, we have assigned seats (WTF who still gives assigned seats nowadays?!)

there are SO MANY FRESHMEN this year its not even funny!! the school is SO CROWDED this year you have to squeeze your way through and when you use the stairs, it'll take u FOREVER to get up/down the stairs (luckily most of my classes are on the same level) there are 500 freshmen this year and our school have around 1500 people. it SUCKS (haha even the teachers were complaining) not offense to freshmen but they all carry GIGANTIC backpacks (or roller backpacks) and takes up so much room in the hall

i couldnt change my scedule because every class is crowded and our school have to hire more teachers

o and just today some kid set a fire in the boys bathroom blah

im a junior but...you only have 500 freshmens? we have 1000 freshmen (that REAALLLYYY sucks)

This will be one of the longest rants ever. Oh where do I start. Let's start with my school in general.

Well first off my school was a Jr. High School, so that means a small student body. Probably 500-600 students at the most?
Now that it's a high school it's VERY crowded although there are only 700-800 students. It's only one building, two stories, probably 50 classrooms in total not including the Gym and Band/Music room. I was hoping they would build another building but that's not happening. The interior looks very.. tacky lol. We got a grant from Cisco and people have been installing routers into classrooms so there are wires EVERYWHERE. Of course they're bound together but it just looks.. bad.

Since I've been a "freshmen" kind of for 3 years it was refreshing to know that there would be a class of students younger than us ahha. My school was in the transitional phase so I was there for 7th and 8th also. I've learned to tolerate them. There really actually isn't too many freshmen though. I hear other schools having like 500 and stuff but we may only have 100-150 xD The sophomore class is probably the largest in my school right now. One thing I dislike about the Asian freshmen in particular was how they find it cute to try and flirt with every guy they come across and talk in a really loud and high voice. Really though. It's unnecessary.
There's drama but it hasn't really escalated yet. A few Freshmen guys decided to act as if they were so tough even though in reality they weren't. They try to pick fights and a some friends of mines got fed up with them since they started to talk about unnecessary things and kept provoking people but things cooled down. There's a lot of tension though ahha.

English III is just fine. My teacher's amazing it's just that it's a bit too boring since it's at the very beginning of the day. She teaches all of the English Honors so I know I'll be having her throughout HS.
Health.. nothing special. We go to the gym sometimes because he's busy and needs to fix up stuff for the football team xD
French III... well she's a Belgian native I believe. Her accent is VERY heavy and sometimes she doesn't understand exactly what we say. Her teaching method is very poor... we actually had to make a essay based on French designers and not study the language itself? I thought it was strange. A lot of people dropped that class because her her so now there are only about 10-15 students in that class and they're all females. Most of us thought our French II teacher would be teaching us but she was moved into the Science department.
I LOVEEE Biology. My teacher's pretty young so we have fun and joke around. She explains things thoroughly and we actually do labs and such. One downside is that the Honors Biology is very crowded xD 31 students I believe.
Algebra II. This is the first time I actually had to write down notes for a math class. He helps us out a lot but he tries to make little jokes with the students and it gets really annoying. Teaching method is pretty good since he gets up to the board and writes everything out for us with examples and helps the students with their mistakes. His tests are short so it's very easy to have points taken off for little mistakes.
Free Enterprise. This man's a pedophile. The first day he was just funny now he's downright annoying. He gives us far too many examples of things and then we completely forget what we started out with. He's also very unorganized =_=

I'm in one too many clubs since my transportation home after school is limited haha. I'm in Student Council, Asian American (VP), Key Club, and Academic Games. I was going to join Newspaper but they're pretty unorganized so I decided against it.
Being a member of StuCo I decided to figure out some class shirts. I ran for Class Pres last year but lost since my school has predominately African American students. The Class President, in my opinion, has no clue what he's doing. He expects me to just come up with the ideas and submit it to him. If he were to do that then he'd just resign =_= There's a meeting this coming Monday for Sophomore class but we don't even know when. Good job Sohp Class Pres. Speaking of shirts... Does anyone else have class shirts? Mind sharing ideas? We do need some help since we don't have any of those rhymes, themes, slogans, and whatnot. And we didn't want to do Perfect 10 because it's pretty cliche.
VP of Asian American Club isn't so bad. There are about 40 members this year which is a lot for us haha. The only thing I hate about meetings is that everyone starts talking to their friends and things get REALLY loud. I'm VP because I was in the club since it started in 7th grade and have been pretty active. The former President and VP CHOSE the next set instead of letting the club vote because it'd be like a popularity contest. We wanted things to be clean and organized :]
Key Club is fun. We do a lot of community service work and my favorite is the Kiwani's in PJ's event at Barnes and Nobles X] I'm just a member here so nothing much for me to complain about.

This year I have better teachers and such, but theres this ONE certain BIOLOGY teacher that can suck all the weenies in the world. I want to kick him really hard in the balls and run away really fast. I do not like science whatsoever based on all of the teacher I had for the past 3 frigging longg years. I've learned completely nothing from those losers. We do NOTHING in my biology class. Lucky? NO. Because tests comes up and I will FAIL. All he talks about is chickens and since he's African American, he favors them more than the rest of the races in his class. No joke. I asked him "Do we have to write down the question?" because some teachers doesn't require that, and then goes on with his retarded lectures and crap. and I'm thinking.. "WTF.. I just asked a freaking question" its a YES or NO question MAN. CAN'T YOU JUST FREAKING ANSWER IT WITHOUT ANY OF YOUR CRAP?!? I seriously want to slap him. He thinks hes "ghetto" and keeps talking about his life and how he use to live in a ghetto city and such, and what colleges he went too. Its ALL about himself. and its been 3 full weeks of school so far I learned NOTHING and he said we did "alot" in his class. DUDE, WHATEVER. PLUS his class in no fun either. Theres this one chick that wouldn't stop LAUGHING. and when the teacher asked her to read something she tries to act like an idiot and doesn't know that one freaking word. its WAYY too annoying for words. She laughs like every 5 seconds about nothing. dang, I truly hate his class. And when I try to do something better with my lame boring time in his class, like doing my math homework he said "this is a biology class, not a math class put that thing away" I'm like "we're not even DOING anything though" and he tries to deny it saying that we are and I wasn't. and the fact is, I already finished the work while he told his lame stories that has nothing to do with biology. He also tells jokes that are NOT funny and might be affensive to other kids.

hehe, time for my long a** rant.

Well let's see, I started school like a month ago and every week in that month I had to change my classes because it just was too much. so now my classes are:

Prin of Engineering
World Lit
Geo
Alg 2
AP Bio
AP World Hist
Spanish

and let's see I only like two of my classes: AP World Hist and Alg 2. Prin of Engineering sucks, but there's no other elective during 1st period that I like that I can change into. So I'm stuck w/ that for a whole year. World Lit is just a waste of my time. I hate it so much. I don't think the teacher can teach whatsoever. All we do everyday are these stupid board assignments that make me feel hella stupid. Was thinking about dropping her class and taking a junior lit class but then again I don't wanna have to deal w/ those stupid juniors in my school either, so dropping that class is out of the question. Geometry is so freaky stupid. I just don't get why I'm in that class. If it wasn't required I would drop it so quick. And that class means me want to throw up. Its so small and makes it so hard to breath since we have like 20+ students in that classroom. AP Bio is a nightmare like seriously. Kids who told his class told me that none of them got a grade better than C- and that's when he was teaching regular Bio, he's teaching me AP right now, and like I just failed my first test in his class with a 16 out of 46. sadly I had the second highest score. I wanna switch out of his class so much, but I can't. AP World Hist is my favorite class EVER! I love it. There's no kids yelling and he can teach. I hate essay but for his class it's a piece of cake. Maybe another reason would be that I actually do enjoy History to a point. Idk. I like his class. hehe. Spanish is just about as worst as Bio. the teacher can't speak english correctly YET she claim to have spoken it for the last 20 years. i don't believe her one bit. Since its my last period class of the day, I really don't wanna do anything, and all the kids are just yelling at each other and throwing paper and I see kids sleeping it makes me wanna go to sleep to. and sadly with all that noise and chaos, I am still able to fall asleep, or me and my friend would play Bobby Carrot on my cellphone. hehe. that was until she caught me playing. T___T no more bobby carrot. Oh my Alg 2 class is awesome all the answers are on the board, he just goes over them and me do some practice problem and the rest of the hour is free time. We can eat in his class and everything. so fun. he don't give u a negative mark if u sleep in class, cause he's probably sleeping at his desk too. and like yesterday we had a fight in that class. a boy was trying to fight this girl, he is such a punk. she was about to throw a fan at him and he punched her. and the teacher and the rest of the students just kinda sat there and watched, 2 minutes later he called the people down the office.

Oh and I'm also a part of after school clubs such as FBLA and Robotics. So half my weekdays after school I spend in those two clubs. FBLA takes up the most time and since I'm the Historian in that club I have to be present at all meetings to take pictures and prepare power points and crap, write articles for the FBLA newsletter thingy, keep files, blah blah. Normally meetings last about 1-2 hrs, our last about 3-4. And since its a business club we have a school store the members run. It opens before school and during all lunch period. So that means I have to get to school early and skip my lunch period to help out there. I never get to see my friends or future bf. bleh. Robotics is a waste of my time, but I secretly have a passion for stuff like that. Don't tell anyone. ^____^ It takes up alot of time too. Right now we're not doing anything, but when we start I might have to stay 3-6 hrs a day helping out.

Oh and because of my busy life-style in High school, I've totally been spacing out and forgetting things and such. and this guy I like at school rides my bus and he asked me out of the bus but i wasn't really paying attention and was like no. I seriously didn't even hear the question but knowing him I thought he was being stupid and said no, after i got home my friend Imed me and was like I thought u liked him, why did u reject him? I'm like oh I thought he was kidding. I mean I really don't have the time for a boyfriend but at least i could of explain it to him, and now I have to clean up this mess on monday which I'm not really looking forward too.

well soph year is sooo much more stressful than freshmen year. i thought freshmen year was hard, but i haven't even been sleeping for soph year!! i'm taking 3 aps, but that's nothing compared to some of the people i know haha. i'm taking ap calc, ap european history, ap environmental science, and journalism 2 (newspaper)

errrr ap environmental science is especially killing me....i have to memorize dates, numbers, statistics, etc. for tests, and they ask stuff that's not even in the textbook!! the only thing that's keeping me grade up is the curve for every test...i would be failing without it haha. and stupid frqs for ap european history are so freakin hard, my teacher grades so much harder than the other teachers!! ARGH, i just wish high school would be over with. \

errrrr and journalism 2...during press week, when we have to release the newspaper, i have to stay after school until 10!!! and then i'm just so tired that i collapse on my bed when i get home, so then i don't get to do any of my other hw =[!!!!

1-0 you know!!! our school is heck of spirited... no for real really spirited. but sophomore year yah im just scared for junior year. i don't no wat classes im gonno take and thats like the hardest year. so this year ima just explore clubs and pray i don't die my junior year lol but i probably won't take hard classes like most of my smart ass friends... hella freshmans at our school too its like everywhere i turn i see a damn freshman.

i HATE my AP alg 2 class. no scaling, extra credit, she barely goes over things, and every test/quiz are timed!
im in 4 clubs; environmental club, asian culture club, thomas jefferson forum and model UN/international club and im on ROTC drill team damn T_T
blah decided to join track in spring cuz im just so busy right now
my english teacher gives out like an essay and other crap for hw every night. its AP english, and shes one out of the two teachers.. the other one is SOOO easy but i end up with the really hard one sigh.

i remember in the summer i went to change my schedule and they wouldnt let me but on tha first day my schedule was how i wanted it so im just freaking HAPPY its how i want

I miss them so much! They were just so cool and laid back. They weren't boring like they are now. What my English teacher said was so true, after having him as my English teacher no other teachers will be as awesome as him! My English this year is so odd in a way. My biology teacher last year's class is next to my crazy chemistry teacher so I always visit my Biology teacher's class and he wants me to leave since I always caused trouble xD. Oh I'll never forget how much I made fun of him last year and he'd always get us back.



Oh I know! I know this really cool freshmen and and I'm always like "Shut Up Freshman!" to her just to kid lol.

weirdly for me, my sophmore year is alot easier than my freshman year. i have ALOT less homework (im actually quite lucky with teachers this year) they arent really laid back but they dont give out homework everyday i only have math homework everyday and some from other classes occasionally

right now im really stressing about art. im taking art 5-8 and the people in my class are a bunch loud rude and ANNOYING upperclassmen (no offense to upperclassmen) but yeah i can never hear what the teacher is saying because everyone is so freakin rude and talks/never listens when the teacher is talking. anyways, i have to do a series of 4 pieces for every mid term and i only have two weeks to finish these four pieces (since midterm is in two weeks). im very serious about my art class so it usually takes me AWHILE to do one piece T_T plus im not inspired at all and last year we only had to do ONE out of class piece for every semester

well, i kidna like freshman year better.
This year, all my classes are so far apart, i have to walk back & fourth all day.
& HOMEWORK is retarded. I barely have any freetime anymore. My english teacher assigns like essay EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. like..you expect us to finish all of that in one night along with our other homework??! & WE'RE NOT EVEN AP/HONOR. & my math teacher, he assigns a bunch of homework too.
So far, my favorite classes are PE; physiology; & history. My PE teacher is fun, he's hard..but hes fun. He makes us get into better shape so i like that. Physiology is easy, we rarely have homework.
My least favorite class right now is DRAMA. That class is soo boring, so many people dropped out. Like..drama, we're suppose to be acting & having fun. My teacher makes us do paperwork all day. We never have time to do anything fun or participate. She gave alot of people Fs & when we asked why, she said it's because we don't participate. HELLO?? WE DON'T EVEN DO ANYTHING TO PARTICPATE INN. ALL WE DO ISS READ AND ANSWER QUESTIONS! GRRRR. I had the same teacher last yr. for piano, & she was soo boring in piano. I fell asleep in that class everyday.
My love my hsitory teacher. She gives us a packet to do, she gives us the answer anyways, we turn it in & we haev an A. Im actually doing alot better in french then i did last yr. French 2 is hard..mostly when my teacher only speaks french & the book is only in french. French 1, when we do an activity in the book, it has english directions. French 2..it's all in french TT_TT. Anyways...thast my rant about sophmore year. Soon..we'll be graduating!!

i have no study methods for it at the moment LOl. *ish pathetic* XDDDDDD

I took the PSATs last year, freshmen year, as a practice thing.
My school makes us take it, just so that we could be ready.
It's not that hard. I mean, the only problem I had last year, was geometry, because I hadn't learned any of it yet.
This year, it should be easier.

Um. The english section is super easy too.
At least there's no essay on the PSATs, but on the SATs, they just added a new section where you have to write an essay in the Jane Shnifer(sp?) form.



This year, I'm just a bit worried about whether I could keep my 4.0 gpa.
I chose to take an AP class, AP Biology, and it's super fun, but when it comes to tests, I don't do so well.
I don't know, I guess it's test anxiety? Anyone have a way of getting rid of that?
It wasn't a problem last year, but this year, it started to kick in... >.<"
Honors Geometry was a bit confusing at the beginning of the year, but it's better now, since I understand everything.
But still, those are the only two classes I worry about.


And then! I'm worried about whether I should take AP classes next year?
I want to take AP Computer Science... but I'm not sure yet.
I have to finish my PE credits in order to graduate, and I'm trying out for tennis team, but I'm not that good.
So I'm still indecisive as to what I'm going to take next year.
There is a class that could count as a PE credit, Recreational leaders,
& it's only for one semester, but if I were to take an AP class, I won't be able to take that class.

& I get so annoyed with my friends lately.
They're not helping out with the stress, just adding to it.
Ah. And I feel like a drama-queen every time I get mad for reasons they don't know, but I do.
*sigh* All girls school is so dramatic. It kills. But it's fun.

I'm a sophomore also! YAY! This year is no fun, actually. This is the most crucial year in my high school because this is where the administration decides if you're going to be kicked-out of the school or not so I'm really studying hard(?). xD

I'm taking English, Asian History, Geometry, Botany, Business Math and Algebra 2 (curse Algebra) classes this year. I totally don't have a social life now. I have no time for those things that's why the computer is my sole companion now.

My classmates and I find our English class boring coz the teacher is old enough to retire and she's starving to death with her overtiming! Gah. Funny thing is, my classmates and I are belittling this subject. We don't review our lessons when we have tests nor doing our homeworks. xD Seriously, I love English but I'm hating the teacher.

PSAT are next week, I'm not nervous but looking at all my friends prepping for it, scares me.
This year is gonna be so hard for me.
AP classes, Robotics, FBLA, and now a relationship on top of that. How I'm I supposed to handle it all. pfft... Guess I won't be sleeping for the next 6 months.

I just got my schedule for the second and third tri of the school year. It's gonna be hell compared to this tri. Right now I have band, us history, guitar, chorus, and algebra 2. Next tri I have algebra 2, jazz band, biology, honors english, and drawing (which i'm getting out of). Right now I hardly ever have homework, but next tri....ugh. I'm not so sure. lol. Just this year, and then two more is what I keep telling myself. xP

Ayee classes are starting to get harder!! Haha.

I am feeling the pressure in Global. Next year I have to take AP US History and I'm kind of worried. Oh well, I'll manage...

CLASS OF 2010!!! YAY =D

Ugh... I guess I had suicide on my mind in freshman
year when I was signing up for classes this year.
I decided to take a zero hour, which begins at 6:30am every
stinking day. And I'm really dying of lack of sleep now.

0: Economics/Civics
1: Honors English 10
2: Chemistry
3: FST
4: Orchestra
5: AP US History
6: Spanish I

I have NO idea why I took that zero hour just to fit in AP US History. Why did I even sign up for APUSH?! I suck at history, so that class is sucking the brain out of me. I do not understand a thing in that class. And since it's an AP class, it's full of SENIORS and barely any sophomores! I'm dying in there! I am SO not ready to take the AP exam at the end of the year. The $83 to take that test is going to go down the drain, since I obviously will fail. There goes my 4.0 reputation.

I'm so stressed this week. I have a lot of big assignments/projects on my shoulders. ALL assigned just this week! What the heck!! Great timing, teachers = ="

Economy: Budgeting project [ugh, we have to give an oral presentation too T_T]
Honors English: 2-5 page analysis essay on The Crucible
FST: Test Friday and Midterm next week Tuesday; so I have a lot of reviews to do...
APUSH: I have a test on Monday, and I still haven't done ANY of my study guides or vocab. I have like 3 study guides that each take at least 1.5 hours to do and then I have to write down about 30 vocabulary terms.
Orchestra: I have a concert tomorrow and I still have to do a concert critique on some other concert I attended.

Bring on the stress pimples...

i finished xc about a month ago and i haven't really run at all since xP
i start badminton in about 4-5 months, but intermurals start in a few weeks
school is the worst.
two of my teachers are.. well, i question how they got their teaching license o_o

I'm a sophomore too.

*sigh* I think I am going to get straight B's this marking period.
I don't know, this year has been more depressing to me than last year.
I think it's my social life, it kind of...died because of well, stuff that happen.

And I haven't been doing my best.

AP U.S. History is a bit tough and I don't know...=/


And honestly, I have been thinking about college and crap.
I KNOW my family can't afford a good/expensive college
and most likely we can afford with my grades a state school like Rutgers or something..
I guess I lost motivation =(

My ambition, originally, was a school like

NYU

but with the classes I'm taking I don't think I can compete with the students
there *sigh*
I'm taking Biology A, Geometry A, English A, History AP, French 3H

I don't think that's good enough...
I take only 2 clubs and that's Yearbook club,
Asian Culture Club
and I don't have leadership positions. I do
Winter Track, Spring Track and I did volleyball my freshmen year but I don't know.
I suck >.< I'm probably not going to go anywhere..exiting *sigh*

Oh yea I work at Wendys 2 days in the school week and 2 days on the weekends,
if that counts for anything

that it doesn't matter where you start with
it matters where you END, PLUS Graduate school.

Hey don't feel down... with your sports things. I really was bad in track in 7th grade, improved exponentially in 8th grade, and in 9th grade I sucked (like I was as fast as I was in 6th grade... like 14 second 100's at the beginning of the year and I hit 12.9 as an 8th grader). I kept on pushing, I kept on trying, and I kept on dreaming. I actually re-timed my 100 with my track coach and it went down from 13 to 11.9 (If you're not familiar with 100 times... that would be a huge jump...)

So don't feel bad because you're not doing well. Find that potential within you. First know what you want. Don't be vague and don't limit yourself. My goal was to get better, but now it's more specifically to make it to state by the end of my senior year. So don't just think Rutgers. Think NYU.

And with leadership, just do your activities well, be passionate about them, and leadership opportunities will come

^.^ So yeah hope that helps. Don't limit yourself, make a goal, try to get to it, and if you can't get that goal, be proud of yourself for trying as hard as you could anyways.

Oh yeah, and it doesn't really matter where you go to college in the beginning to my understanding, it's more important where you end up. Such as many people in Cali go to CC's and transfer to Berkley, UCSD, UCLA etc.
