For those who have the latest Ipod Nano with video, how is it? Any comments about it? Complaints? I want to know before I buy one.

my friends all give rave reviews when they saw it at the apple store, so i'd say go for it! I will buy one when I can unload my 1st gen Nano

I'm loving mine so far. No flaws that I can pick out. I just hate the freakin' material they used for the backing (that mirror-like material); it's just begging to be scratched. Another issue to consider is that there are practically no cases being sold for this new Nano yet. except for that armband one. so I'd wait a little bit. Or you could be like me and wrap cling wrap around it HAHA

imo, it looks really squished out to me, but its amazing it palys movies too.

The color red is really off from what I was thinking - I was hoping it'd be like the 2nd gen "flame" red. It's actually something like dark pink O_o So I suggest don't get the red one =__=;; But it's super tiny and cute >_<

The polished metal backing gets irritating. I like the screen though.. they did a better job using..I think glass?

I don't own one myself though. I think I'll hold out until they revert back to full aluminum. They're always done it right afterwards anyway.

I've always wondered... why do people even want a Nano that plays video. The screen is so damn small! LOL I remember once I had a friend who had one of those cheapo video players you can buy at those shady Chinese stores and he put some anime on it. He kept claiming if you squint a little, you can actually read the subtitles.

After seeing the new Nano, I still like the old Nano design better.

Yeah I never even understood why people would watch movies on a REGULAR video iPod. even the screen on that is too small to be comfortably watching a 2hour movie.

On a small screen like that, yes!

I have a Sansa e200 and don't even like watching videos on that small screen.

It's just cheaper if you buy the Chinese/Korean knock-off of a nano (but it can play video) online...it's like $50-60 vs over $100 for a nano. They come out with a new one every season, just screwing over the people with last season's model.

Technology is *always* improving. Heck, things these days are probably obsolete by the time you buy them. Cellphones, cars, computers etc.

So, the question is: does it really make a difference? I have a 2G Nano right now and I see no reason to buy a 3G Nano. The functionality is 90% the same. Everyone who bought the "2007" iPods should still be plenty happy with their purchase.

i got mine shipped within 3 days and so far its been..ok. It froze a couple of times and duznt play some of my videos fully but its okays. im glad i bought it!

It's a ripoff of Creative's Zen V Plus mp3 player which came out last year.

I bet they are almost finished with the new models for next year already and probably the iPod Touch version 2.

It's a rip-off just because it became wider and stumpier like the Zen? adding a video-playing function was a logical next step for the Nano, so I don't think Apple "copied" the Zen at all

thats what i thought when i saw it the only diffenernce is just the company and the stuff they use to make

LOL even after you get it, if you don't like the color, I'm sure in 3 months you'll have about 70 different colored silicone sleeves to choose from

Oh really? Like Apple hasn't taken anything from Creative before? So when Creative was given on a U.S. patent on the multi-page music management system that iPods used, they didn't rip anything off? If I'm correct, Apple had to settle two lawsuits with Creative by paying them $100 million.

Please, a large number of iPod users/fans say the Creative players and players from other brands are lame ripoffs of the iPods, so why can't the iPod be a rip-off of something?

Apple could've chosen any design for their new player. Yet they decide to make one that is similarly designed as the Zen V Plus? In fact, I would've preferred if they released the new Nano with the exact same size as the 1/2nd generation Nanos.

It's the business world, it's competition, companies will always use ideas of rival companies for their own products and services.

Samsung is a great example of this in the mobile phone world.

Nice explanation. I always hate it when players are compared with the iPods, like the new P2 from Samsung. It's getting very annoying.

just got it today!! at the price of S$248. the mirror at the back was irritating though, I'm sure there'll be scratches within the 1st week. but yes, it's so cute!

just cuz it's a ripoff of that (which i doubt) doesnt mean we're wasting our money. its not even our business.

I don't see a point in paying more for a player with a little to screen to watch videos. What is the point? The original Nano was great at what it did, but I guess if people want the video functions then why not...

^ i love my nano nonetheless, but i only have 1gb. not much to play there =] (considering i have a lotta songs) and id like to watch vids=] since i m commuting more. id be so boring without something to do . am i right or am i right? =P

It's insanely thin (I know two people who have them) and really nice. My only concern is the laggy coverflow display. I'm content with my iPhone though :]

Not even 48 hours since I purchased it,

and I'm having problems playing videos and music!

I was finally able to play with it a bit at Circuit City. The thing was much much slimmer than I thought. I felt like snapping it in half. Also, the menu was laggy. Yeah, yeah, I know, it's not on all players.

I like slim, but the nano is too slim just like Samsung's phones.

I Love my 3rd generation ipod. SO easy to use. I can finally have some fun in the assembly with my ipod.

I really really like it :] I don't find any flaws, except that it has a mirror back so it can get easily dirty -__- but other than that, i'm in love with it<3

Not a big fan of the design. 1st & 2nd g look better imo...But I brought one anyway coz my old one had no space left.

I don't have the recent iPod nano, but I had the silver 2G one back when they weren't as.. fat. Now, I have an 80g classic.

My friend has the 4g video nano though, and she says that it's great. Since it uses flash and not hard drive or something, so it doesn't "lag" as much as my classic. It's really tiny, though. Screen's bright enough so that you'll be able to watch something normal without a problem but movies or things that have subs would be a bit of a stretch.

Even if someone showed me an mp3 that did the same things but was slightly cheaper, I'd still get the iPod. I've just gotten used to iPods, personally I think they just look wayy better.

The back IS annoying though, for both my friend and I. I put my iPod in the leather case the moment I took it out and SOMEHOW there's still a small scratch at the back of it. I almost never take it out because of the smudges. It's cool how you can use it as a mirror though.

My boyfriend has one and he loves it The back tends to get scratched up easily tho ugh.

This is exactly the kind of thinking that always makes me really pissed off... everybody, including all of my friends, think that iPods are the only mp3 player worth buying, and everything else is probably some chinese copy of an iPod. When i show people my creative zen, they all think that i got it because i cannot afford an iPod, which isnt true. When you look behind the iPod brand and image, ipods are actualy very crappy. People need to think about what they are paying for. Nobody ever considers anything non ipod, which is just really stupid

You know, here in my country, Creative Zen is actually more EXPENSIVE than ipod. Since a lot of people I know here tend to buy mp3 players that are NOT ipod just because it's so common.

But I do have the new nano, I have it in silver color, 4gb. The screen is bright, big enough to watch videos though not for clips with subs. I also like that it displays album artworks at the side when you're in the menu. All in all, it's nice.

But I'm planning on buying Creative Zen because it's way easier and awesome.

i've had three generations of ipods, only one of them i actually paid for though. i've never had a bad experience with my ipods, they all worked perfectly. my latest ipod (the older blue nano) was literally dipped in water (for however long i don't know because the water from my water bottle poured into a small pocket in my bag where my ipod was sitting). the water got behind the screen and it wouldn't light up, but a few days later everything was back to normal, no kinks no damage to the music. i just sold my ipod to get the new pink. it's soo pretty. =D

I'm pretty cool with mine.. it's small which is very good.
