does anyone watch cricket?
some say it is boring - i guess it is just the test matches
there is also the 1 day-ers
and the new 20/20 games

i go to adelaide during the summer and always miss the boxing day tests in melbourne
i find watching cricket entertaining, esp. when i have nothing to do

Cricket would be fun if you could throw the ball differently. Why not throw curveballs or change-up to off balance the hitter at least.

firstly theres pace bowling, and then there's spin bowling.

And for pace bowling, there's different types of bowls.
Inswinger, outswinger, reverse swing, legcutter , slowerball, stock delivery.

Spin, there's off spin, leg spin, flipper, googly, doosra..i'm sure there's more.

does that change the speed of the ball? if it has nothing to do with the ball, please explain.

pace balling is much faster than spin balling - watch brett lee http://youtube.com/watch?v=sCvAmjXbzAg this is your typical pace balling. there are different types of pace-ballers. you have your fast ones like lee and your slower ones like glenn.

your different hand actions (whilst you're balling) determines what kind of spin bowling/pace bowling you're doing - like what shiwen said

yea.. Brett Lee ish awesomee!! aus is gonna have a clean sweep. But i want more excitement into cricket these days... like more competition, more action, more heart thumping action!!!! dont get me wrong... i want australia to win, but its just .... nnyyyaaaa!! i unno. cant wait till they come to Perth!

so much controversy in the news lately..

i havent been able to watch the cricket cos i'm overseas.
but i have heard about how hte aussies arent playing fair and all the controversy
can anyone explain what's going on?

Basically, it started with on field racist slurs about Aussie Roy (from Harbhajan). Remember Australia's tour in India and how the Indians were calling him monkey? Reports to the umpires were made about this etc and from that, everything blew out of proportion. Harbhajan got banned but India threatened to not finished their tour unless he gets to play.
Oh yeah, about the unfairness thing, it was about walking. How Ponting and Roy should have walked...............bad umpiring decisions (Roy went on to make 100+) Umpire Bucknar (sp?) was made to take leave for the rest of the series.
The controversy is about sportsmanship/ spirit of cricket/ sledging
