I am certain it is the most hated treat you could ever give to a child. Black LIQUORICE! (spelt licorice for some) the only lolly that is never touched at a party. I may be ranting (and once again some may say), but seriously who came up with such a bad tasting candy?. Man my dog wouldn't even eat that shi-tzu, neither would a starving homeless even touch it. He wouldn't even consider taking them as a replacment shoelace.

SO who likes its? I have attempted to appreciate it. And the more I try, the more people move away from me. It's disgusting, you will need at least 10 other chewy lollies to take away that sickening taste.

I reckon it's nothing but marketing gone wrong, but sinisterly gone right.

You ever wonder why it's even considered a 'candy' in the first place? I mean, aren't candies suppose to be "yummy"? Black Licorice isn't yummy. If anything it's the antonmy of that. They should put it on the guiness book of records as the worst tasting chewable treat. They are black millipedes with no legs, melted record vinals from the 60's, taste like the stuff found inside your belly button - although I have never tasted what's inside my belly button, surely I couldn't imagine something that taste worst than black liquorice.

had a HORRIBLE experience eating a piece of chocolate not knowing that some stupid ass (probably the same idiot who came up with licorice) decided to disguise licorice under delicious chocolate to trick innocent chocolate loving kids like me -__-" YUCK! i can still imagine that horrible taste in my mouth... scarred for life i say! i break all my chocolates to see whats inside now...

I agree, it's really bad. I've never liked it and never will. My best friend and almost all my other friends actually like it very much. I just can't understand it. Candy is suposed to be sweet, but licorice is anything but sweet. Candy is suposed to look nice and "friendly", but licorice is black and weird. When I was little I thought it was made of tar.

I think ouzo tastes like licorice too, even though it's aniseed based. Whatever, it's nasty.

I work in a pharmacy, and a surprising amount of people go for the bag of all black Glucojels instead of the colourful ones o_o.

I like black licorice, but only some kinds. The only times I eat the All-Sorts type is when they have the coconut with them, or the white center. I've heard Kookaburra licorice is good, but haven't tried it yet. I like licorice jelly beans, too. Otherwise strawberry or raspberry flavored licorice is good.

I don't like it; I remember when I was younger and they had those pipes shaped black licorice with the red stuff also on it.... it looks interesting but doesnt taste good at all. I wanna try it again just to see if I can get over the taste lol, but I never was tempted to buy it when I see it among all the other treats..

Haha. I agree. First time I saw it I thought, hey cool it's black. First time I smelt it I thought, hm.. smells kinda weird. First time I tasted it, I spat it right out. I have no idea how people can eat it. It tastes bad, makes your breath stink and makes your tongue this weird, ewwy yellow colour. Doesn't look good when it gets stuck in your teeth either. Bleh!

the first time i had licorice [or however you spell it] was when i was kinda young...so ive kinda forgot the taste ....so i cant describe it. but i remember that i didnt like .. so ive never touched it again after that.... and first impressions are important to me with candies!

but that doesnt mean you shouldnt try it if you havent..because you might like it...-shrugs-
