I've always been using Winamp to listen to my songs. But recently I noticed little "popping" noises on all my songs. At first I thought it was just my songs getting corrupted or whatnot.. but then i played them on WMP and there were no "popping" noises.

Anyone have a cure for this?

What programs do u use to listen to music?
baygirl
you could try GOM i use it and the sounds its really good
apparition
i use winamp.

re: your popping noises...check your CPU thread priority in the output preferences. also check if you're running any weird DSP in the preferences settings as well.
pekkles
I use foobar2000! =] Simple! (and super-customizable, but I'm not elite enough XD)
I'd ask if you were sure that the popping was due to the program, but looks like you're right~ Kinda weird, though
dalki
use 알송.
it even shows lyrics for some songs.
actually a lot of them.
a.p.r.i.l
winamp..
been using it for years already..
and its pretty nice..
i've used a lot of players and a lot of them have the tendency to hang after so long yet winamp only does so when i've opened multiple programs
Saebin :D

I use winamp, its so good, i like the Bento Skin alot as well =] and you can dock up on the top which matches my GUI,
check the settings, because it could be some settings that are not rightly set up for your computer ^^

I used iTunes for a few years then switched over to Foobar2000. I liked a lot of things about iTunes except the sheer size of the program and excessive functions. It also takes up a lot of memory (or is it RAM?) for me and since I run at lease 3-4 different applications at once. I wanted it to be as fast as possible so I made the switch. It's also really customizable, though I don't exactly know how to make skins. I just apply ones that people already made wink.gif
joolee.
I use Windows Media Player or iTunes.
Clix
iTunes, it's a simple program that's easy to use.
meteorstarbb829
i use gom , itunes, and windows media player.
nothing fancy.

Been using Winamp for the better part of a decade, but, I don't like the UI management too much, I feel some things should be easier.

Also getting irritated at the playlist orientedness.

I only installed iTunes to get firmware updates on my iPod, other than that, I refuse to turn it on, what a hog.

Might try Foobar.
KuaiSky
Foobar2000 Rocks! I have been using it for years. Simple, convenient, fast, clean, low-memory usage. Plays music in playlists, and can edit music in ID3 tags.

Just to check it out, I'll google 알송 (alsong) and see how that goes.

edit: Wow, the lyric section amazes me. Really amazes me. Really really. I am not ditching Foobar200, but I'll keep alsong biggrin.gif !
LaZClaraBear
am I the only one that uses JetAudio?
I use ITunes only when I have my IPod plugged in
KuaiSky
I heard of JetAudio (been thinking about getting a Cowon D2 ^^), but I have never used it.

Reps for Foobar2000 (lightweight and fully functional) and Alsong (lyrics!). I personally dislike winamp, windows media player, and itunes.

For the image: The theme of my computer affects the look of the windows.
Top is a resized Foobar2000 and bottom right is ALSong. The lyrics playing at the bottom are from ALSong.

YEAH! Same. I don't like how Winamp's windows are placed. It's annoys me. :/
But, right now I've been using Windows Media Player (since it's so simple to use) and Winamp. smile.gif
rapunzel283
I never liked iTunes when I had a PC but I love it on my new MacBook laugh.gif

It's simple and has the functions I need... happy.gif
rrrrrai

I just tried it out as well
It's really cool ^^ but Korean doesn't show up for me! It's fine in the editing window, but it's just boxes in the window itself. Any ideas on how to fix? O_o If I could fix that, then I'd change my answer and say alsong replaced foobar for a third of the time XD

+edit+
Whoops, found it XD Now it looks like a pretty dumb question.
But now I can change my answer!
Foobar2k most of the time
Alsong when I feel like getting distracted by lyrics, haha
*doesn't have to wait for karaoke videos all the time anymore yay*
Antz
still using itunes~
since my whole music collection is on my ipod~
weird&short
foobar because I discovered how to hide my media player to the system tray (?) so it's just a tiny square for me when i play music.. biggrin.gif i need all the room i can get
it's so easy to organize my music (love the tabs)
i just leave it as default since it's so light that way+ i'm too lazy to customize it
LunaDiviner
I use iTunes because I have an iPod and cbs organising my music on another program.
Stra-chan
I use Windows Media Player but foobar2000 is better.
holahola
winamp, ftw. it's works fine and i've been using it for so long.
vc1188
Everyone seems to hate iTunes but I LOVE it. It's so simple, clean, and ridiculously organized (which is perfect for me because I'm quite OCD). Plus, I have an iPod and don't want to switch back and forth between music programs
thtlam
I used to use Window Media Player but since I got i-tunes I've been using it...I like i-tunes how it has all the album pictures as you flip through your music
*yongha^^*
it depends on my mood,i either use winamp, windows media player or itunes
orange momo
I use 알송 and GOM... they are excactly the same but I use both O.o... I can sing along to songs it's kind of cool ^^!~

Rajdeep

OsiX
foobar2000! 1st and only choice.
YaMiTa
GOM Audio
it's like allsong.. but allsong won't show lyrics T__T
soulclaimingice
I use iTunes.
Get an Xfi sound card, really helps a lot with everything.
Onesweetypie
1st I used Winamp but I switched to FooBar and im loving it! =D
KuaiSky
Actually, I change my opinion.
1) Foobar200
2)GomAudio

I just tried Gom Audio and I find out that AlSong is just a rip off from that. For those who do not know Korean/hangul, then I don't suggest getting Gom Audio because only the korean version is available. I am suprised that I have been using Gom Player for years [it's the best I think for video] and never heard of Gom Audio. Well for lyrics, and for those who know Korean, use Gom Audio! For those who don't, then use Alsong.

But overall, use Foobar2000!
souljunkie
I just use iTunes since I have an iPod.
It pretty much decided for me lol.
Never really gave it any thought, and besides does it really matter which one you use? crazy.gif
