...Hopefully this is in the right forum. ;____;

Anyway, I recently stumbled across this quote:

"Like the chicken and the egg, enthusiasm and success seem to go together. We suspect, however, that enthusiasm comes first. If you want to succeed at anything in this world, polish your enthusiasm and hang on to it." – John Luther

So... if being successful (academically) in school requires you to be enthusiastic about learning a subject, how can you become more enthusiastic? What exactly could you do to be more engaged in the classroom and actually find the stuff you learn enjoyable/interesting rather than a bore?

For me, I find it difficult to be enthusiastic in any of my subjects – and it’s not because I don’t like them or that I find them difficult either. So I was wondering how I could change that? Errrr... thank you in advance?

enthusiasm in the way you describe it is probably powered by your curiousity and interest in the world around you.

it is the enthusiasm to go out seek learn question and discover.
human beings tend to have it in abundance on this planet. but i have no clue how we would fare against other life forms.

so if you want to succeed academicaly, always keep questioning, questing until all is known (probably not in ur lifetime..)

one of my new year's resolutions was to get my grade up.. and it did, it SKYROCKETED.
one thing, i got more SLEEP. this way, in school, i wouldnt be crabby/groggy. I didnt come to school HUNGRY either. i always tried to focus on things. also, i did all my homework, which keeps me up in all my subjects, because i know whats going on around me. try to do all your work, and try your BEST to manage everything, bc when you feel smart, you would want to keep on going and be proud of yourself. if you feel dumb, your just going to give up and feel bad about yourself... if you dont know something, get HELP. smile.gif idk. this is how im enthusiastic with my classes smile.gif

Haha, I'm never enthusiastic about school and yeah, it reflected in my grades. I wouldn't really call it enthusiasm that pushes people to succeed though. It's more like motivation or something. Many people will do things without being excited or happy to do it, but because they need to and they want the reward that comes after it.
