Rumors of a third season of the "Gokusen" drama series were confirmed on Wednesday. Yukie Nakama will reprise her role as the teacher Kumiko Yamaguchi (affectionately known as "Yankumi").

Based on a manga by Kozueko Morimoto, "Gokusen" has already had two previous seasons. The first, in 2002, averaged ratings of 17.4%, while the 2005 sequel averaged ratings of 28.0%.

The third series will premiere in April on NTV, though the specific time slot has not yet been announced. Casting for the students will be decided around the end of this year.


Note: Yukie Nakama, Namase Katsuhisa(School Vice Principal), and Utsui Ken(3rd Generation Oedo Yakuza Boss) has already confirmed for their roles for part 3.
I wonder if any JE guys will star in this drama? Who knows, but I'm looking forward to this.

The main student cast for the NTV drama "Gokusen 3" has been revealed. Yuya Takaki (of Hey! Say! JUMP) will play the lead male role, and is joined by Haruma Miura, Hideo Ishiguro, Junta Nakama (B.A.D.), Akito Kiriyama (also of B.A.D.), and Shohei Miura.

There's rumors YamaPi and Kame will star. But I find it highly unlikely and, if so, strange.

after watching Gokusen 1 (which is actually better than 2)
I was so wowed by the acting and emotion.

I'm probably the only one who thinks this, but IDK.... I'm sort of wondering why they chose to have a third season. I didn't like the second season much, I thought the story was a little stale, though I watched it for Jin/Kame *_______*

I wish Matsumoto Jun would star in it, but he's getting a little old to be in a high school drama. But I ADORED him in the first one, he was awesome.

All over LJ everyone's spazzing "LOLZ OMG IT'S GOING TO STAR PI AND KAME BECAUSE I READ IT IN A CHINESE TABLOID!!!" which is funny because 90% of that stuff is false.

It most likely won't happen, but I would adore seeing Junno in this. I think they could totally pimp him out, dye his hair, etc. I would love to see him portray the Gokusen image, if that makes sense. But he has Yukan filming still (I think :/) so yeah.

for some odd reason, I'm kind of picturing Mizushima Hiro in this film.

this is great! i loved Gokusen (1 more than 2) but i think Gokusen 2 had hotter guys, though i loved Sawada Shin!!!!!!!!!

i think Yamapi would play a student part well, though the rumors about about Kame being in the the thrid one, wasn't he already in the second one? we're talking about Kamenashi Kazuya right? from KAT-TUN?

I thought Yamapi had prodai SP to do and toma has Honey and clover, kame has the 1 gospel thingy. I doubt they bring back akame, it's going to be someone from JE for sure but it's either from HSJ or Jr. I'm hoping for fujigaya!But i hope they changed the plot or add something new bcos season 2 bored me to death despites all the good looking guys.

Somehow, Im not very optimistic about 3rd season.

I think..

The third season should have Ikuta Toma [Hana Kimi], Kenichi Matsuyama [The L from Death Note], and Hongo Kanata [The mini Gackt from Moon Child, and Shinichi Okazaki in Nana 2]. It just fits for some reason. ^^

Hmm..not too ecstatic about the 3rd season.
I really liked Gokusen 1...I loved the ending of it! So much fun! I was kinda disappointed on Gokusen 2 that they only included one student from season 1 (Kuma). It also took me a loooong time to finish season 2, 'coz I stopped watching mid-way then when I had nothing else to watch, I finally finished it. ..lol.
But like most people here, I'd probably still end up watching Gokusen 3 .
I hope Yankumi would finally end up with a guy...

Shin and Yankumi become a couple in the manga.

And I don't think Yamapi will ever be in this. Like I've said tons of times in so many other threads, Yamapi is a leading man material already, and the main male lead in Gokusen is supposed to be a supporting role to Yankumi.

Frankly, Gokusen is about Yankumi, not some cute/hot actors! That is why I detest Gokusen 2 so much because it stops focusing on Yankumi.

Gokusen IS about Yankumi... but didn't Gokusen season 1 & 2 do well because of the JE boys?

and yea, that's exactly the reason why I stopped watching Gokusen 2 also, but if the drama isn't going to have some NEW/GOOD plot, the JE boys should be used for high ratings... since that's all that matters these days.

Really.. so my hunch is right Jun acted that out pretty well....

dang..cant wait...i love this drama and if i have the money i will definitely buy a copy of this
