If you frequent the Soompi Canada forum, then you've probably seen a few of my threads recruiting people for Dodgeball in Vancouver.

So just to bring everyone up to speed, Vancouver has been part of the Dodgeball world since late 2005 and now in 2007, going on to 2008, Dodgeball is stronger and more prominent than ever in Vancouver. The Vancouver Dodgeball League is going to start it's 5th Season come late February and the league itself has gone from 16 teams on one night, to 32 teams per night for 4 nights a week. That's 128 teams. That's about 1,536 players playing Dodgeball in Vancouver come Spring 2008. By popular demand, a branch of VDL has expanded to Coquitlam and a league has formed there. They just finished their inaugural season and by the looks of things it was a huge success.

So enough of that history stuff. I don't even run the league, but being apart of it for the past 4 seasons I feel somewhat proud and honoured to be apart of something so great.

We've banned the red rubber balls from the league as it discourages people from playing in fear of injuries. Instead we've imported coated foam balls from Sweden and they've been the official balls of VDL since conception.

If you're from Vancouver and you want to play give me a shout, I'll see if I can get a team for you. And for all the other DB'ers on Soompi, do you guys play in a league? How big is DB in your city?

Thanks for the sympathy, but people can only dodge this thread for so long before they get hit square in the family jewels/face.

I think one team named themselves Purple Cobras for one of our tournaments.

Word on the streets, says there's gonna be a volleyball/dodgeball tourney on March 16th. It'll be a joint effort between VDL and Volleyball4Cash.
