Fatima's Past

In some cultures, they feel that the female is not as important as the male, and she should not have any pleasure during sexual intercourse, so they circumsize her (which is called female genital mutilation aka FGM now, not circumsized) when she was seven, which means they cut off her clitoris so when she has sex, she will feel no pleasure.

Like Fatima said, they cut the female clitoris, sew the labia together. This is something all young woman in the culture must go through at around age seven. The girls are usually performed in a village by the elder. Some elders will hold the girl down, and sometimes the girls will get infected/die from this surgery since the people doing this 'surgery' are not trained and they use unclean tools. I'm not sure if she got it done because of her culture (no sex before marriage) or because they feel the female is not as important as the male.

I barely caught any of cycle 9, I just watched the last 2 shows.....Cycle 9 was very boring.

I did enjoy cycle 8 though....that was very entertaining...we'll see about cycle 10.

They did go to Tokyo once, IIRC.

OMG! Amber?! Thats the funniest thing ever. I think the producers cast her just for the show to be funny. She's going to cry the whole time again. I might watch this season just for her.

I'm sort of glad that Twiggy left; she didn't really make the judging any more interesting or more informative. Italy is a good choice IMO so I'm a little interested. Hopefully the cycling cast won't disappoint me like the last cycle. It better be the best casting ever like Mr. Jay said!

for me, the show has lost its credibility (did it even had any?) but I'll still watch it for the photoshoots and for pictures.. even the funny moments and catfights.
couldn't care less what the judges and Tyra had to say or who'll they'll eliminate/pick as winners.

They'd probably go to Brazil or Germany
or countries that are improving fashion-wise like India or Russia.

& i hope they go back to japan, too :] seeing little tidbits of cosplayers were cool 8] but when the ANTM people went there, i dont think a lot of them appreciated it... haha! like the girls admitted that they just threw on something together that didnt match at all, and they end up getting good feedback.

Ahh yeah ANTM keeps sucking more and more each year, and I always find myself watching it lol.

Ughh Marvita? I remember her. I don't know about that. I think I didn't like her from a previous cycle (she didn't actually make the top 13-14, but in the begining I didn't like her I think). But yeah, she just doesn't seem like a top model. And Kimberly has a baby face. She looks so young and...not fierce lol. Well, maybe she'll pull it off in her photos, we'll see.

Yeah, Tyra keeps getting faker and faker. And more annoying. There was a time when I actually liked her as a person lol. But she seems so fake now. And way too over the top on this show, and others. And she contradicts herself way too much. Anyway, ahh the first few cycles were really good though!

Anyway, overall, those pics are pretty fierce. Tyra's is horrible though.

He might not be pleasing to the eye but he has done a lot.

Seoul Collection has been holding regular fashion shows with of course Korean designers. i think they do it twice a year.

but like PDURR said thailand and china isn't really known for fashion yet but they went there... so why not korea?


Like every other fashion magazine in the world tHey have celebrities featured in a spread in the mag.
If you have a celeb its most likely that they will end up using high end designers. Its not like Dior is making SNSD their main models. SNSD is fairly popular right now and its not uncommon for magazines to feature popular celebs in the industry in their next issue.
I can assure you that the rest of the magazine has high fashion editorial spreads with great models esp in korea's W, vogue, allure, elle, anan etc etc.

I can't argue with your comment about korean models being too commercial because I haven't really paid attention to the models . but from what ive seen.. there are some pretty unique females out there its just we don't focus on them.
