Ugly. It's easier to succeed in life if you're ugly than if you're ignorant (:

Ugly, because I think ignorant people can't succeed in the world or understand anything. Ignorant people just bother and annoy me so I don't want to be one.

I would rather be called ugly.

that's pretty hard.. cuz people just by looks these days, but no one likes an ignorant person..

Sounds foolish, but I'd rather be called ignorant. Though it will hurt my internal feelings/thoughts/characteristics, I can always learn more and become less ignorant. But unless I undergo plastic surgery, I won't become less ugly.

ugly-because even if that person thinks im ugly then they'll be someone that thinks im pretty

i donno, but i think to be called ignorant would be more of an insult to me since i work so hard to get good grades etc and to be called ignorant is like throwing water in my face while being called ugly is not as OMG since i know there are a lot of people who are prettier

It usually takes a lot more for someone to call you ignorant than ugly, so ignorant would seem like a bigger insult.

That's so true. Even if you're really ugly, there's always bound to be someone who thinks you're pretty.

"Ugliness" is purely subjective. But if you're ignorant.... it's pretty much universally recognized. Plus, it's just a lot harder to fix ignorance.

If you were ignorant you would not have any idea you were. And if you did it defeats the purpose of being ignorant.
Thus, if you were ignorant other peoples opinions would not be valid towards you.
There are so many people that we say are ignorant but have no idea they are. Think of it this way:

A person BORN with no arms will never know what it feels like to have two arms. But how would that make that person any different? He had never had the experience of using two hands so he would think that using his two feet to operate would be completely normal to him.

So, an ignorant person will not know how it feels to be intelligent (unless they change somehow) because being "ignorant" to those that ARE ignorant is just like having a normal mind of intelligence.

Regardless of what I just said, I'd still rather be ugly though. =P

I’d rather be ugly than ignorant. Being ignorant causes a person to have distorted viewpoints about issues, they are blind to the truth, or maybe they just don’t know enough of the truth. Ignorance is bliss as they say, but it may not be bliss to those you are hurting with your ignorance. I don’t think intelligence has too much to do with ignorance, but education does.

Ignorant people can't even get their minds around the serious consequences and disadvantage of being dumb in a fast-paced, ever-changing society...so the chances they will choose to be called ugly is highly unlikely.

A smart person would pick ugly because appearances are only the 'tip of the iceberg'. It isn't everything and looks can only get you so far...but with intelligence, you can really do and become anything. Whoever heard of an ignorant person changing and making a difference in the world? I think the sad part is that simple-minded people never get to experience the real world...and they live in their own little bubbles forever.

Plus, intelligent people look more attractive over time while stupidity can make someone look less attractive.

Ignorant, not because I give a crap about my looks, but because I really do believe that ignorance is happiness.

Is it CALLED or is it be? because that makes a hell of a difference to me. of course i'd rather be ugly than ignorant, but i would rather be CALLED ignorant than ugly because i can surely prove them wrong. Being called ugly is a slap in the face to me.
