It's all about personality for me. Haha, I fell for my gay best friend before...too bad he liked guys too. But anyway, my mother said she'd disown me if ever I married a black guy or hispanic guy If I love the guy, I'm willing to get disowned, lol.

I find that there are alot of things that unfortunately for you, go against dating black guys. I find that no matter what asian country they're from, asian parents always seem to discourage dating outside the race, especially with black people. It's also only normal that girls would tend to date someone that they can relate to and are similar to. But don't give up hope, I've seen quite a few black/asian couples.

Mm, don't just say that parents only see what's on the media, stereotypes, etc. Although that might be very true, a big part of parents only wanting their children to date inside their own race is because at least there are familiarities with customs & culture. And uh, I liked a Black guy before. (: We were great together. But that went... 'haywire'. So I guess I would date a Black guy, but sad to say... we might not last. I would always choose my family over my s/o. So yeah.

the thought never occured to me,
because most of the black guys I've ever seen or known of were "Gangster" types,
I've just never thought of them dudes as anything more but friends,
although there was one black friend I had, he was so COOL! haha
he could draw really good manga, and he took an interest in asian culture, so sweet too.
But I didn't think of him of anything more than a friend, maybe a best friend! ;D
but eventually he got sucked into that "Gangster" role too.

at my skool i see black guys and asian girls all the time BUT, u can only get with asian girls if their the ghetto types you kno what i mean

look, i can tell you something, most of the asian parents dont want their daughters to get with a black guy, there's alot of questions and answers behind it and the fact that the parents seeing a guy wear his pants below his waist, they will dissaprove, but it dont have much to do with clothing unless your jus dating without their parents knowing. for some reason, i think asian girls jus see black dudes as friends, not for dating. maybe it's because they have alot of history about them and you know.. stuff like that. but uhm yea, if you can find a ghetto asian girl then go for it, alot of times it will work out

I think I relate better to someone who is of similar culture and background anyways. =]
And so far, the black guys I've seen are really hardcore gangster... and not my really my type to begin with ^ ^;

Don't worry man, I know at least like 2 couples where the guy's black and the woman's Asian.
I know some who dated black people before (I dislike using the word black because um well, the skin tone is usually dark brown-light brown like my classmate).
I guess its all about how the people accepts you. I love any kind of people, I think I do love the male species tooxD

One of my friends REALLY liked a black guy over the summer and she's Korean.
One of the reasons she liked him was because he was the first black guy she had really gotten to know (because where she lives there aren't that many) and he was intelligent and funny. But then he like screwed up big time, so it didn't work out. =/

we're a very racial diverse school

that's not the only reason. parents think rationally when it comes to relationships and the truth is that in America in 2008, black men are more likely to be less educated, more likely to earn less for the same work, more likely to have other children out of wedlock, much more likely to be jailed, have a shorter life expectancy and be a worse provider than other races.

those are the realities of being black in America, which sucks. asian people didn't create those conditions, but it's not like parents can ignore realities when it comes to the longterm well being of their daughters

I think it's a two sided coin. a lot of parents are racist and refuse to see the good parts of dating a black dude (not to be crude but you know...) and a lot of daughters are equally blind and pretend that there are no difficulties and realities to the negative of being with a black guy.

but in the end if 2 people truly find each other then they're lucky regardless of race.

I'm actually with an african american guy that's into asian stuff..and I thought that would be hard to find..especially living here..and he's no 'gangster'..I wouldn't stand for that either..
sure it's not fair how they think all black guys are "gangster" but being of darker skin tones has put us at a disadvantage...

but I also have friend from Thailand that would never think of doing it...

i know about 2 couples right now that are between a black man and an asian girl, and their relationship seem to be going very well for them
but as for me, i've never really been attracted to a black guy. dont know why i'm not racist or anything, but i think its really a cultural thing thats going on.

and i also know of several asian girls who wont date any other race other than black guys

I'll be honest here, I don't see myself dating a black guy but that apply to any non-asian race. I think relationship would be easier for me if we're the same race because it's much easier for me and stuff but i have no problem if someone i know dated a black guy.

I actually almost dated a black guy when I was in high school. My friend was telling me that he liked me and we hung out and stuff and he would tell me that he liked me, but never asked me out so we never officially dated.
