Hey guys....
I barely post in this section but since I got a new car I figured I'd just do it this one time. wink.gif
It's cold and the sun has set so my picture quality isn't that great but you get the idea. ^^

Specs:
*2.4-liter DOHC 16-valve VVT-i 4-cylinder engine
*5-speed electronically controlled automatic overdrive with intelligence (ECT-i)
*heather gray interior
*blue streak metallic exterior (sucha beautiful COLOR!!),
*17" alloy rims
*Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Traction Control (TRAC) with off switch
*Electronic Power Steering (EPS): Power-assisted rack-and-pinion with electronic power-assist

Dealership said I was the first in Michigan to buy it, not sure about that but definitely Mid-Michigan. Yay for me! Too bad the roads here are yucky right now.

i thought the XRS had the celica gt-s engine? did they drop it from production since it was outdated?
krnshinsa
congrats!!!! be safe out there.
ZiGeNX77
Congrats! You'll suffer ~5mpg less from the regular Corolla but the extra power and manual tranny should make it more enjoyable to drive. I like the color.

i think they dropped the XRS temporarily in 06? maybe 05 and brought it back with the 2.4 2az
but for sure they changed the engine to the new one in 09

I like the seats, they're firm. I also drive an Accord coupe but since the baby arrived I thought it was appropriate to get a sedan (I was considering a SUV too, probably the Highlander) but got this instead. It sucks taking the car seat in and out of the Accord.

I'll take more pics on a nice sunny day! Total I paid $25K, bought the warranty and protection so that's what jacked up the price but the base price would've been $22,500. I know, it's a little high for a Corolla but since they've improved the looks I'm pretty consent with the price after all.

Honestly I never cared for the Corolla until the '09 came out, and I only dig the XRS, that's the only trim I like. It's not the best car IMO but I needed a safe reliable car (yet a little sporty looking) for the baby. wink.gif

It's so fun to drive compared to my Accord haha. I'm a girl and that's all the excitement I need. ^^

Sure is.

I love the color.. never seen that kinda color.
Drive safely! smile.gif
mofo
u shouldn't have gotten the extended warranty..toyotas are the most dependable vehicles on the market..the toyota corolla is probably the most dependable vehicle in the history of the world lol..

u totally got screwed.

i was at a toyota dealership looking at that exact same car..the 2009 corolla xrs..and it was beautiful lol..i like the blue...

^ Well, dependable yes, but not guaranteed. I still think it's better to have it than not to have it. I know, it's brand new so everything should work properly right? Well that's not always the case and unless it's recalled, without the warranty I would be totally screwed. There's nothing worse than a new car falling apart.....an old car falling apart, eh it's expected.
My warranty covers engine, transmission, axle, suspension, steering, brakes, fuel system, air conditioning/heating, electrical, etc.

If I paid out of pocket for any ONE of those things it could cost more than the warranty itself.
Now I don't know too much about cars, but I know how to read. wink.gif

Yeah I seen the commercials, thought it was interesting, went to the dealership, fell in love. hahaha

Sorry, I know a lot of people are "dissing" on the XRS and saying things like "oh man the SI would burn this anyday"
Well, I don't care...been around Civics all my life and I'm bored of them.

Updated w/ new photos (for those who care). wink.gif
PDURRR
ooh it really does remind me of a scion hahah
i drove behind one the other day
i was like XD!

sweet.

do those bottom lights in the back also light up when you brake?
kuku
haha nice color. Blue's my favorite. But I think the mpg should be a little better. 22/30 seems a little low for an economy car lol.
ZiGeNX77
The bottom "lights" are not lights but reflectors. Many cars have them in the same place while others have them integrated into the tail lights.

I like the front end much better than the regular Corolla.
aznfishyfart
i like
love the color
only thing is i dont like extra crap on the bumper.....lol

I'm not sure b/c when I'm driving it I wouldn't know lol but as ZiGeNX77 says they're reflectors so I guess haha, I haven't even really looked at them yet.

I definitely like the front end much better than the lower trims too.
I still don't think these pictures do the car any justice. And I can't believe I'm saying this about a Corolla haha! Toyota has really stumped me this year.

The color makes the car look so much better haha!
As for the "extra crap" I think it's just noticeable b/c of the flash of the camera, in person that's not something that'll pop out like that. lol
bLufurBaLL
oh man the SI would burn this anyday

lol jk. I'd consider the Corolla if there were a coupe version..

Really? Don't you think that if there were a coupe version it would look totally different? And who knows if different would be a good thing. I bought it b/c it's a sedan lol. I say it's for the baby, but...is it really? haha

It's funny, today I went to gas up and I didn't know which side the tank was on...and I didn't want to look like an idiot so I went and did something else first, gas up later! biggrin.gif
ZiGeNX77
Ahaha you noob hehe.

I'm considering a sedan for my next purchase too but I don't know my price window just yet. A coupe is nice, but not nice for people moving.

Look at your gas gauge. It should have an arrow indicating which side your gas cap is on. Which is on the driver's side btw.
