I really like Mikki's new cellphone!
I was wondering what model it was. Can anyone tell me?
Thanks! ^O^

It's looks a LOT like the 707sc.

But it must be a special model because the 707sc doesn't have a phone strap hole and this one clearly does...hmm, I'll look into it for you. ;] It's a really cute phone though. :]

Mar 9 2008, 05:10 PM
If you look closely the phone has a cover. The strap is attached to the case cover.
The model is softbank 707sc. There are a few threads here relating to that phone.

It can't be a softbank righ? Cuz the model said "Anycall" ._. It REALLY looks like a Softbank 707sc though XD

Yea. That's what I thought. At first I thought it was the Samsung 707sc. I was so happy. But then, I stared closely at the picture and saw the AnyCall under the screen. The SoftBank one says SoftBank on it.
yoojeong
Mar 9 2008, 06:52 PM
Softbank is the Japanese version of this phone. Anycall is the Korean version.
You wont be able to use Anycall outside of Korea because Korea uses CDMA network.
People have found unlocking solutions for the Softbank 707sc hence you can use that outside of Japan.

I see I see. So is it possible to use this phone in the US?
Off topic but can you use SKY in the US?
yoojeong
Mar 9 2008, 07:15 PM
^The Softbank 707sc phone, you can use in the US.
Im assuming SKY is a Korean model, so I doubt you could use it outside of Korea.
My white 707sc...

If you're a hardcore "text-er", you might not want to purchase this phone. SMS is different to normal phones but you do get use to it.
User interface is interesting, cute applications, and most of all the design is amazing!!!
I figure that the phone is getting cheaper and cheaper as new Softbank phones have landed the market. So I guess thats a good news for you potential 707sc owners.
I remember people use to bid up to $500 Australian dollars or more for this phone. Now they seem to reach only $300 max!

^ Wow it's so pretty. How do you use it? I'm sorry, I'm totally clueless at this stuff XD I've been meaning to ask someone how to use foreign phones in the US but so far, all I have is "You can't use it in the US."

Mar 9 2008, 11:56 PM
So specifically can this phone be used in California??
yoojeong
Mar 10 2008, 03:54 AM
^ As long as your country provides GSM network then yes, you can use this phone!!
Im not quite sure about the US but I've heard people in the US use these phones as well.
Check out ebay and ask the sellers. Especially the ones from Japan. They seem to know it all!

^I think as long as they have T-Mobile they can get the phone since that's the only carrier that works with the phone. :]

Mar 12 2008, 09:06 PM
You actually can use the Korean one in the US, because it has GSM as well as cdma.
Mui
Mar 12 2008, 10:35 PM
^nah cdma korean phones don't have the sim card slot.
unless a gsm version is made.
like the LG chocolate.
This is the anycall version of the softbank 707sc.
it's entirely the same, except that their camera is only 1.3mgp.
if you're in the US, you can surely get the unlocked sofbank version and start using it around.

that phone is the 707sc ... like what everyone's been posting.
i dont THINK you can use the Anycall one in the North America..but you can get an unlocked Softbank one..it's the same..just that it says Softbank instead of Anycall
@ yoojeong: is that a hole for straps i see ?!?!? where did you get the cellphone hole from? =\
someone asked if you can use SKY phones..I think you can use them..but apparently they can only be used with Verizon network..i think you can get them in k-town in l.a.

^Its actually from the case cover. I got it as a gift with the phone. But you can purchase it from Gmarket as well!
Type in "go ah ra phone" = 고아라폰
They nicknamed the Anycall to Go Ara because Ara was the one who modeled for it!!

I tried gmarket some time ago, and most sellers don't ship these overseas, which is a bummer. Also, I don't know if they will even work in Singapore, so I gave up looking, though I really love the design. T_T

^ah, thank you. you're quick. ^^
I was actually referring to the handphone itself though. =/ I've seen the unlocked ones on ebay, but they're really quite expensive. Parents will probably disown me since I paid quite a hefty sum for my N95 just a few months ago.

Actually this phone is a special model. It actually has GSM in addition to CDMA. If you go to the Anycall website and look at this phone it specifically says GSM. I know, because im moving to Korea, and I was looking for phones that would work in the US as well as there.

^The buttons are easy to press and very comfortable.
Bear in mind that they are flat so you would have to look at the keypads at all time.
I dont use T9 prediction so it wasnt much of a problem to me. Also warning you the keypad is different to what we're use to. Like when you want to press space or move to the next letter you have to press the left navigation key instead of "0". Or when you want to enter symbols, the common symbols like ?@#$ have to be entered the long way like going to the menu screen!!

Try thisAnd this..And this...can you briefly tell how these sellers work??
cuz the current bid on the white is USD$100 and black AUD$0.99
is that is ACTUAL price they are selling it for?? (im 99% sure it's not for the .99)
so how do they work out the price we pay???
yoojeong
Mar 15 2008, 06:49 PM
^You have to bid on the phone.
The highest bidder gets the phone.
Example, you bid 0.99c on the phone, but I come along and I place $300 on the phone. I outbid you and I win, hence I get to keep the phone. Obviously there are more than one bidder involved especially when it comes to these phones.

Mar 15 2008, 07:01 PM
so if... IF i bid like 10 on the .99 and no one outbids me i get to buy it for $10???

the seller will sell it???

Mar 15 2008, 08:14 PM

They have to because they have risked in starting the bid at a low price!!!
Like I said its very unlikely it would go at that price. It will reach >$200

but it's okay, we'll all get use to it anyway.

The only place I know that sells them UNLOCKED online is ebay. And then there's the other local websites that I know of, but that's only for singaporeans. Nope, you can't buy the phone off gmarket; and even if you could, they'd probably be useless since you wouldn't be able to get it to work for you in your country. So far, I think only the Japan Softbank 707SC are unlockable. ^^
