I think I'm gonna get a used rsx instead of the tsx my dad's offering. I'm just not comfortable with him spending 30k on me.

I don't have pictures of it right now, but it's sooooo pretty 0_0. Funny thing is, today is his birthday but he's buying stuff for other people.

He bought it for my sister Vi (22) she's getting her license soon. That's right, soon, not yet.

Needless to say, my sister Trang (19) who has a camry is already pissed. She says she's been driving for three years so she should get the better car. Trang went BALLISTIC however, when my dad said he was thinking of getting me an acura tsx. I'm turning 18 in two months.

The situation is quite hilarious.

I would be more sympathetic to Trang if she were actually thankful to my dad, but all she wants from him is money. (She treats him like crap.)

I would even be willing to trade with her (if my dad were to buy me the tsx) if she didn't treat me like crap too.

Moreover... her camry isn't even two years old.

People will be stereotyped, I'm sure you will have to accept it. It isn't necessarily a bad thing, it is the people who interpret them in a certain manner that probably bugs you. It's all good. I'd rather be a stereotyped rich kid than just a kid who isn't well off.

well the TL Type S starts at $38K, that's pretty pricey IMO, but everybody has their own opinion what's expensive and what's not. Either way, she has a sweet car now

I have the TSX. It's sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet. The milage isn't super great (like Honda Civic) but it's okay I think. I like the sound system in it (but I'm no audiophile). The Navigation helps a lot when you're traveling and you don't know where you are

I got this car new last year when I was 19 years old. My dad paid for the whole thing straight up, so it's nice not to have to worry about payments and such. But I wouldn't really consider myself rich - my dad might be rich but that doesn't mean I am ._.

Tammie your dad is too cool. If he wants to get you a new car and he can easily afford it without jeopardizing finances, go for it. I think the TSX is a great car. In fact I am considering picking a used one up as one of my choices after I'm done with school. I like it because it is a good sized car, good safety ratings, reliable engine, and very good looking. The TL is good too, but it is a bit larger than I would like personally.

Fine, call me a bad sister if you want, but it goes both ways. She sees me as a bad sister and vice versa. There's plenty more that I can say about her, but I won't because I do love her. not too slow, not killer on gas mileage, not to fugly, and most surprising for me; not really all that common (at least where I'm at). it seems there are more TL's and TSX's than RSX's nowadays.

id still characterize her/ her family in the "rich" category, but I wouldn't hold it against anyone. If your parents worked hard for their money and decided to take care of their children in the way they see fit, hey, more power to them. Not really a big deal.
