so i'm debating whether i should resign physics or not.. heres why..

i'm going to school on a scholarship that covers about 1/2 of my whole tuitions/board/food/etc... and because i got below a 3.5 my first semi i'm current on probation and at risk of losing my scholarship if i dont get my gpa up to a 3.5 this semi

i'm an engineering major so i took chem last semi.. got a C and it totally KILLED me in gpa wise.. this semi i'm taking physics.. even tho i'm tryin my hardest i have a feeling i'll prolly get C+ at max and i'm not confident that i would get a 3.5 if i keep takin the course.. perhaps i should take it later on? becuase right how i kno w/out physics i have no doubt of getting a 3.5, but with it i have a fear that i will not get it..

also i was wondering.. if i resign.. that means theres a "R" on my transcript forever.. and i heard that effects me when i go out in the real world look for a job.. is that true? but should i think of the future when i shouuld be focusing on how to keep my scholarship?

please help.. i really want/need to drop, but i dont want a R either

is resign same thing as a W (withdraw)?

It doesn't matter. Besides (maybe) your first job, noone is really going to look at your college transcripts. Their just gonna check if you graduated.

oo really? cuz yea i was just really worried that it would affect my chances of perhaps getting a job since ppl say the "R" is so serious and crap.. i dont really think so.. and hope not

don't withdrawl.
if you feel like you cannot pull up your physics grade i suggest you audit (pass/fail) and retake the class in the fall.

^what's the problem with withdrawing.

if you withdraw it wont affect your gpa. if you want to maintain a 3.5+. you can just simply take it again next semester or during the summer.
