Okay so I got a D in senior year for AP Calculus. The rest is B's and 1 A.

I already got accepted for the fall of 2008 for most of the UC's.
I'm planning on attending UCSD (SAn Diego).

The problem is i'm worried that my admission status would change once they recieve my final transcript. What happens?

Do I have ANY chance in keeping my admission status or.. is it hard?

PLEASE HELP!! sad.gif

wow.. i'd be really glad if someone helped me with this too. i got all passing grades last semester,(2C 2B 3A) but its 1c 3b 3a if weighted ap classes..
but right now (like RIGHT NOW .. i have an F in physics and calculus.. scaring the crap out of me... i'm trying to raise it.. but i keep failing tests/quizzes and those count sooo much! i got into ucsd, ucd, uci, and uw :/ do you know if any of those check for revoking now or later on?? like after may 1 when we turn in the statement of intent??

i'm really worried :|

ouch... this is a very touchy subject. While you don't really need those classes to pass high school, you need to maintain a decent gpa. That's usually a C average. I'm not too sure what happens if you get a D or F. But I have to warn you, I've seen 1 or 2 friends who got their acceptance rescinded after getting 1 non passing grade.

It's your senior year in high school... I wonder why teachers still have the guts to not pass them. There's tons more chance in college for that... especially since most teachers don't care about you when you are one in a few hundred in the class.

Pull those grades up! or else you will regret it.

i don't really know the chances
but do try your best to pull it up to a C
beg your teacher for extra credit and etc

i know someone who was accepted to UCSD
but got her admission revoked because of a D in 2nd semester
so she ended up going to a CC

not to scare you or anything..well maybe.

it really really REALLY depends.

i got a D in AP Calculus AB 1st semester of senior year and i was scared for my life. i got into UCM, UCI, UCSB, and UCSD. i had to send notifications of D or F grades to all of the colleges i applied to. UCLA rejected me on the spot for the bad grade, but UCSD (where i really wanted to go to) sent me a small notecard in the mail telling me that they would tell me of their decision in some random late month. i forgot exactly when. but it was pretty late.

fortunately, i managed to get my grade in that class up to a C (i almost got a B! ><) by second semester, and also passed the AP Calc exam in may so i got college credit to skip the first quarter of math. tongue.gif

my grades in senior year were really strange. i think i got one D for math, one B, and the rest A's. it might depend on the rest of your grades too, since they may realize that your calc teacher was just being a huge PMS-ing @$(*(@*$@. *cough cough* but i don't really know.

my orientation leader also told me that she got a D in AP calculus, but her admission wasn't revoked. however, my suitemate also knows someone who got a D in AP Physics and her admission got revoked. it really depends how lucky you are.

Hmm...one of my friend got an F cuz she was caught cheating her last qtr. so she forfeited her chance of evening going to UCLA when she already accepted too. But I know ppl with D's and still got accepted. My friend said they still accepted her after she got a D in one of the classes but I don't think it was like a math or science class. Well, I think if u do better ur 2nd semester they'll take tat into consideration. Plus, its more or less how ur final gpa is. If its still a 3.0 or above I'm pretty sure its fine but if its like 2.5 or something then I'll be worry.

i had a friend who got an F on her creative writing class because she got so lazy that she basically cut the class all the time. she got accepted to davis and davis sent her mail asking for an explanation of the F and she lied and said that her grandma was very sick and she spent most of her time tending to her grandma. dry.gif but luckily, her admission wasn't revoked. i guess it really depends.

^ yeah i think it depends and plus they'll try to find you so as long as you have a good explanation you should be fine.. happened to one of my friends who got a D and another who got an F but they were only applying to UCSC and still got in. if it's a more competitive college, they might revoke you x_x
