well I was born and raised in the Phil but I admit that I'm not that good in tagalog.
Actually, I think i suck.. I'm not used to it. I'd rather speak in bisaya or english.

jaexann
I think I can speak my native language (tagalog) a little bit -- like, the basics and stuff.

*raises hand*

I can't speak chinese (teo chew) fluently at all ): Although I do know most of the things my relatives say, I have really bad grammar structure and pronounciation in my language.

Not really that embarrased though. It'd be nice if I could speak my own language fluently, but hell, I know fluent English lol (:<

I'm not very fluent in my Vietnamese >.<
Lately, I'm starting to forget some words...of my own native language ph34r.gif

If you have trouble speaking it, then it's most probably not your native language. I think the category most of you are putting your language into is "ethnic language."

English is my native language and I have no problems speaking it. As for my ethnic language, Laotian, I'm not too great.

Im Chinese (Parents from Hong Kong) and my cantonese is shocking! although I was praised by a sals assistant in hong kong once for speaking good canto for a BBC ha

I'm Chinese/Korean and I speak Mandarin fluently, but I can't speak Korean that well.
When my 할머니 or 할아버지 asks me things I have no idea how to say things back. They even bought me Korean books. HAH how frustrating. T_T

my family makes fun of me when I mix english and viet together. dry.gif
KOGEPANN;)
I can't speak cantonese too fluent either,
I can just about understand but nothing complicated,
sometimes in some cantonese dramas I don't know what they're talking about,
only basic stuff,
I find it so embarrasing, since I can only say Yes or No or simple phrases TT_____TT!!
bbyxjingie
the only language im 100% fluent in is english T_T
i used to go to chinese school when i was younger.
but i forgot everything i learned :x
i can only understand simple stuff.

I'm Vietnamese and my parents say that my Vietnamese isn't very good. I can speak the every day ordinary language but not read or write. It takes me a longggggggg time to read or write something in Vietnamese. But I don't have that broken accent or whatever you call it...O.o That's too...white-washed if people do it on purpose. sleep.gif
miyavaki

My excuse: None. Just laziness. That language is so damn complicated.

I can speak Canto well, but I don't know the supertraditional sayings and proverbs.
And I can barely read it ><;; My reading ability's about HK third grade, maybe? Almost? T_T
xx_emiliem_xx
I'm chinese and I can barely speak it ._.
Maybe when I'm older I'll learn but not now
babojeshio
i use to be able to speak Cambodian like a running faucet, but once I entered high school it went down from there. i wasn't use to having a language class, therefore i concentrated mostly on learning Japanese. Cambodian just slipped my mind, and ever since entering high school i didn't hang out with my family as much as i use to, which are the people who i usually spoke Cambodian with. sooooo, i mean it's not totally gone. it's just, i'm not as fluent as i was before.
meteorstarbb829
i could speak tagalog perfectly well [:
sassykimsamsoonpig
i can speak vietnamese fluently smile.gif
asiantwin
i was born in korea then moved in the US when i was one...
i can speak korean fairly well, but not fluently.
i usually understand people when they're talking, but i mix up words when i try to speak!
watching k-dramas helped a lot, but now i basically know all the love/relationship words and not a lot of sophisticated vocabulary/phrases... sweatingbullets.gif

Chocopiex3
I'm half Chinese but I couldn't speak the language. Luckily, the school forced me to learn a 3rd language and I chose Mandarin. smile.gif So now I'm in the learning state.
plumblossoms
I forgot most of my Korean tears.gif ever since I started college...I'm so busy and it's starting to get rusty. I need to refresh hahaha.
xstacyy
I'm korean & I can't speak it for my life, but it doesn't affect me at all.
I was born in America, and I don't have a legit reason for learning Korean. Both my parents speak English, and most of my friends aren't asian. Or if they are, they know english.

Acutally, it really irritates me when fobs can't refuse to speak english.
Especially if they've been here for 2+ years.
ladyluckk
I'm not that fluent in Vietnamese, but I can understand a lot. I go to Viet school (-________-) and that doesn't
even help me that much lol. I'm slowly learning how to read & write.

I hate it when I see kids speaking oh so fluently and people praising them all the time >.<
chocopocky
I'm not super fluent in vietnamese but I can kinda speak it. My relatives tell me that when I speak, I'm too 'direct' or my accent sounds funny.. I can't read/write it for crap.
Mandu
Ah, attending 5+ years of Korean school and still can't speak or write fluently. I'M A FAILURE. I always end up mixing Korean and English when I talk to my grandparents >w>; Well, I was born and raised on American soil for all my life. NEVER been to Korea (ugh, sad OTL) So, uh, yeah I'm pretty whitewashed.
lilsmilingstars
I'M A FAILURE TT_TT
I'M A DISGRACE TO THE VIETNAMESE COUNTRY!!
