Sorry soompiers wink.gif
haha this was just bugging me an awful lot last month?
I was bored and I noticed the dust marks inbetween my keyboard which freaked me out,
all the germs..

so tell me, how do you deal with it?
do you leave it there?
or buy new keyboards?

I tried using tweezers and some wipes to get inbetween the keyboards XD
pandacrackers
I usually wipe it with a cloth and use a q-tip to clean in between the keysssss.

Apparently, if you don't mind the chance of losing your keyboard (afterall, you asked if people just up and buy new ones), you can put a keyboard in the dishwasher. Once it comes out, let it dry for a couple of days and it'll work good as new...

Or so I've heard.

I just got my keyboard replaced (for free) cause the delete & backspace key would not work. sleep.gif
Uhh, with my old keyboard, I used a piece of damp tissue and try to clean the dust out.

I guess q-tips are useful.

you can actually clean your keyboard. ^^ you can look it up on google, 'how to clean keyboard' i think. all you have to do is wipe and vacuum it first (using the small suction or the one with the bristles) and then use a screwdriver to take off the keys. to take off the keys just use the screwdriver to push and twist alongside the space under the keys. you like pop them out. you have the option to take out the bigger keys too if you know how to put them back because they have metal wires underneath. then you wipe and vacuum again. you can also wash the keys. but make sure that they're dry when you put them back on. oh yeah to put them back on just place it on its space an press hard and it will pop back up into its previous position. then vacuum again. and that's it! it doesnt take long, maybe less than an hour.

i usually turn it over then blast it with compressed air. if that doesnt get rid of the dust underneath, i get the screw driver out and leave a weekend open to disassemble the damn thing.

pluck every button out and clean it! smile.gif

or just turn them over and hit it!

I cleaned my keyboard out about a week ago, by taking out most of the keys and then brushing out all the dirt and anything else that got lodged. After that I just used some antibacterial wipes to clean out the rest, then put the keys back and use some more wipes to finish the job. Took probably about 15 minutes to clean out and up. Looks as good as new.

any normal keyboard you can take it with you when you shower just let it dry.
loversixteen
I clean it but it's always dirty..like full of crumbs and such. that's why my teachers tell me not to eat near my laptop;; i guess I should start listening to them and my dad yells at me for wasting those wiping cloth

FOR ME I JUST CLEAN IT USING THOSE AIR COMPRESSOR THINGY!!! I don't know what they're called . I guess you can buy it at any stores like wal-mart, or staples (if you live in Canada)

I jiggled it upside for a bit then I use a keyboard vacuum cleaner!

i cleaned my sister's keyboard a few weeks ago with compressed air and a ton of cat hair blew out. the cat doesn't even come near the computer, but it still ended up underneath every single key...disgusting.

well anyways, i suggest the compressed air. if you dont' want to buy that, you can just pluck the keys out and wipe.

i use the spray thing that you could get at staples or circuit city.
