1.) this is a similar focus to this thread over here http://www.soompi.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=206922

I'm just wondering, if a guy told his best friend, (((((like his very best best friend, a guy friend that he's willing to mail 200$ to on his birthday (the friend lives across the country now) ))))
that he doesnt like a particular girl even though he acts so obvious that he likes her (actions, stuff he says to her....i know some of you are probably gonna say stuff like: oh just cuz it seems like he likes her, doesnt mean he really likes her, he could be a player.. and so on. But that isnt the focus here, i just asking are there possibilities that guys lie to their close guy friends about this kinda subject

Should we believe what he says to his friend 100%, or could there be doubts?

In other words, do every guy tell their best close guy friend(s) everything?especially in the areas of liking a girl? or it doesnt matter how close they are, some guys are still gonna hide some stuff from their friends?

2.) also, if a guy tells a girl he likes her(not verbally though, but he gave her roses and a valentines stuffie on her birthday) but tells his best friend, that he doesnt. who would we believe?

i dont lie to my best friend but i dont exactly tell him EVERYTHING about my personal life. i mean if the topic is brought up, then yea i'd tell him about it. by just friends.. no, some things i wouldnt talk about... just because. basically, guys dont "talk" as much as girls do.
nagel
yes, guys and their best friends know about their love life... thats practically all they talk about

I asked a guy what he does when he's got alot on his mind and all he told me was that "I go out and drink with my boys." I asked him if he ever tells his best friends about his problems and his reply was "Naw guys don't do that. We just drink." >.> yeah...lol

So from that convo with him, I conclude that No, guys do not share personal things with each other. LOL

lol thats different. a group of guys will crack jokes on anyone at anytime.. talk about which girls are hot, who we'd "bang/tap" etc.. but never deep into our personal feelings.

My best friend tells me practically everything that's going on in his life. From the girls that has crushes on him to his new video games. I get so bored sometimes listening to him. Lol, jk. I'm a girl by the way.

I think it depends on the guy. Some guys are just "talkers" and some are more.. idk, quiet?
My best friend--who is a guy--does however, tell me whenever he's interested in a girl, but it's more like a, oh-by-the-way---i'm interested in her kinda thing. He doesn't make it into a very big deal like, OMG I LIKE HER!

Yes, the male genus of the the homo sapien species tend to let their tongues loose.

Oooh, I did, he ended up with my girlfriend

I'm a guy, and I tell my best friend everything. Even he tells me things that is normally really secret. We have been best friends for 17 years, so he completely trust each other. I have 2 other best friends, but I don't tell them everything.

That's pretty much what happens. My best friend did it.

maybe he told his friend what to say if someone asked? Trust is also an important factor in friendship and he probably didn't the info to be passed around... hehe, now you can be more confused!
Pogichinoy
Depends on the guys, but I have some besties that tell me everything.
Antz
i don't even think my bf talks about me or us much with his close guy friend(s) O_O
he said if something is brought up, then of course he'd tell. but he wouldn't lie about it.
asterification
ya i always wonder if the guy tells his close friends about what our progress is. will make me feel super uneasy and not respected. and i also don't like the guy to seek advice from his friends as to what to do next kinda thing.
