Full Version: Am I On The Right Track?

I am currently a sophomore at a school that's ranked in the 80s in the country (US).

But I'm scared, because I received my first two B's for last semester, I am pretty sure that I am going to receive two B's in the same class AGAIN T^T

My freshman year was really easy (god, dont you wish you can just go back in time?)
My grades - My classes:
A - Spanish 3 (I skipped 2 so this was one of my hard classes)
A - Biology
A - Principles of Law/Health (each was one semester)
A - English 9 Honors
A - Band (hehe imma geek)
A - Algebra II/Trig Honors

This year T^T (last semester):
A- Acting
B- AP Calculus BC
A- English 9 Honors
A- AP Spanish Language
B- AP World History
A- Chemistry
A- AP Chinese (I LOVE languages, and I took this one outside my school)

last year I didn't have much extra-curricular activities, but this year I'm more involved in the things I love.
My EC's include:
MUN
Law club (that I created)
CSF
Singing in a local choir
this youth care club to raise money for charity

Service Hours:
Tutoring others
Singing at a nursing home
this law program that gives service hours
library

I currently have a job as a tutor (which reminds me, is $15/hr good pay for a tutor? b/c my friends usually hire tutors for $40/hr or more) and I plan to take another job at a shop in the summer

Next year, I plan to take
AP Studio Art 3-D
AP English Language
AP US History
AP Physics B
AP Spanish Literature
Advanced Acting

and I'm going to co-start two more clubs (one for kendo and one for hip-hop dance)

It might look like I'm going all over the place with my scheduling, but I actually AM interested in the classes that I am taking and will be taking, but sometimes I'm just not smart enough for it T^T
I only do the stuff I like, and if I'm not interested in something, I usually drop it.

I'm going to take SAT classes over the summer to help me prepare myself.
I already took the SAT II MATH II subject test (first time I got a 760, second time, 690 T^T)

So my question is, do you think I'm on the right track?
All those who's been through this, please share your experience and advice.
I really want to get into my choice schools.

I've split the schools I'm applying to into 3 categories: backup, target, reach (the ones I REALLY want to get into but not sure if I can)
backup: UCSD, OSU, Bard, Emery
target: UCBerkeley, UCLA
reach (okay, yeah, I'm REALLY pushing it): Yale, UPenn, Columbia, Stanford

If you're like me and you're not sure if you're on the right track, post your status up and maybe someone will be able to help you =]

I took 9 AP's in high school and did soso, my gpa was 3.83 my sat's were 2050, but I got rejected from Berkeley; however, I got into UCLA.

"academic achievement is examined in the context of the school and the surrounding community."

If everyone in your school is doing that well, you will be looking average... don't be average!
