does anyone know about when his 8th album is being released?

I hope very soon!
It's almost been two long painful years of absence...
My guess is that an 8th album will be dropping around 2007...

I thought it was coming by the end of this year... I'm probably wrong...

He's been working on it since about late last year, I think. In his new years message to his fans in January, it said he was working on it. I also read somewhere that it was supposed to come out THIS year, but I really don't see that happening..

I say it comes out sometime next year.

he releases like 3~4 years after each album. (lol his first single album took more than 10 years)

hes probably working on some other band's production, i think (like Pia, nell)

good thing is his albums are not like those instant-made albums that can cause vomit on your cd player.

I wonder what style it'll be in this time around, y'know? For example his seventh album was softer than his sixth, and the fifth was kind of in between. And all three were kind of a big step away from the Seo Taiji & Boys style. He's just all over the place with his music. This'll be interesting! ^^

Its KPOP i think. Kpop= Korean Popular Music.

Well that depends...his two solo albums before Vol.7: Livewire were in my opinion, underground.

hmm I'm hoping for a little harder feel on this album>< i wouldn't mind it being soft but idk harder guitar riffs and loud lyrics appeal to me more lol

and more songs too. vol. 7 was like 7 songs and outro.

Taiji is unpredictable when it comes to his music so I'm not even going to speculate on how the 8th sound and style is going to be.

I don't really care what Taiji does on his next album, cause if it's Taiji, I know it's gonna be good.

I think some people make Seo Taiji threads here because it seems like a better place to talk about him. If someone made a Seo Taiji thread in the Kpop section I think most people say stuff like "I like that one song by Seo Taiji, they are sooooo good!"

And I still don't have a good answer: why is Seo Taiji classified as "independent?" He's just another pop idol.

He's not considered independent. People just like talking about him here more because of the reasons we listed.

In a nutshell:
Seo Taiji is not going to get the respect he deserves in the regular K-pop section. The reason we post about him here is because there tend to be more actual FANS here. It would get very irritating having to post about all these bands/singers (i.e. Seo Taiji, Nell, Epik High, etc.) in the K-pop section just because now they're more popular. They're just going to get lost in a mass of Shinhwa threads and it's not worth the trouble...

Because it's not just for rock.

Well, the underground stuff is getting drowned out by Seo Taiji fans and Clazziquai and all that not-pop-but-not-underground sort of thing.

Then do something about it. Post some threads about lesser known groups.

yeah... because the other forums, a lot of people just listen to the bands because others listen to it and the singers look nice.. [ soo sool.. ] [not saying anything bad about shinhwa, se7en, dbsk] but a lot of "underground" bands, people like us listen to them because we like their music. yeah?

This section has so few topics, I wouldnt worry about those topics getting drowned out. Clazziquai can be moved out and if Seo Tai Ji wants to drown the section, more power to him. And like internetwarfare said, post more topics

I do if people ask. If you look through these threads, I have a few lists. However, I don't think Seo Taiji fans are very appreciative of underground music.

And if you've noticed, the people on the k-pop forum aren't very appreciative of Seo Taiji.

Is people talking about Seo Taiji here really THAT big of a deal?

The guy has less to do with underground music than he does with pop.

If it's really a big deal to you, then PM a mod and ask them to move the Seo Taiji topics to the Kpop section.
