Which brands and models are good?

Also... tell me what I need to look for in a camera.
Like does Shutter speed count?
Megapixel is the quality of the picture right? How much is good?
Tepper
Canon & Nikon are good brands.

Umm do you you the way it feels (deciding factor)?
Shutter speed doesn't normally play a large role in point and shoot cameras.
Megapixels are mostly just advertising hype, but ya.. anything from 4 to 8 looks about the same, so I find that 5 is generally the highest you want to go unless you want to print large posters/billboards... then you might was like a 12mp one.. which is unlikely.

Hmmm how a camera feels? I'd like it to be small, I'm not sure how it would feel. Maybe like thin and not so bulky because I would put it in my pockets.

Hey, I looked on Canon's website

Canon SD450

Is this canon SD450 cool?

I also checked Nikon's site. Are those Nikon COOLPIX S1 - S6 Models good?
I really like how they look because of the flat design. It doesnt have the big zoom lens thing popping out. Does it have flaws when it comes to zooming and stuff then?
It says it has a built in memory card? How much does it hold?

Also, these cameras use SD Memory right? I looked it up and it looks similar to the Memory Stick Pro Duo from my PSP. I have a 2GB Memory Stick Pro Duo, will this work if I put it into my digital camera?
Tepper
Built-in memory is generally really small, so you probably want to get like a 256MB sd card or a 512 to be safe.. ya, the SD450 and the nikon S series are good, niether of them really have any problems, just go test them out at a store and then decide at some point.

Hey, I noticed that Canon SD450 is a bit thick. I'd want to carry it around in my pocket a lot. Would it bug?

What is a camera around the same quality as Canon SD450 but thinner.
Tepper
Ummm a Casio Exilim EX-S500 or S600 might be a little thinner.. not sure though

casio exilim is really good. sometimes you don't want a really thin camera because it feels fragile at least to me. i was comfortable with a bigger camera even though it's bulkier. anyway casio seems like it's pretty AND has good functions. also panasonic makes good digital cameras! and they have pink cameras which is awesome.

canon's more recent models are in the 700~900's.. and they're odd numbers like 770, 790, 870, 890, 850, 950, etc.
