I came for the dl section long time ago, and kim jung hwa pictures.
Then for some reason I stayed

i came to soompi after solid07 went wacko...after awhile my kpop obsession died down and now i'm just here for the selling/trading & health/beauty forums lol~~

taiwanese. came to soompi cuz 1, friend said its a huge forum and 2, i was into korean music.

I came here out of recommendation by a friend. Came back to see if the place was still alive and kicking. Not quite as fast paced and huge as it was last year though.

I had another forum that I frequent but that got shut down so I had to find another forum to kill time instead of having a life outside the 'net (although, me and a few friends are in the process of reviving that forum from scracth, hopefully some of you peeps can go there to support ) and I found Soompi. I mostly go to Current Events to read news and partake in the discussion in there. I was able to learn quite a few things from reading Range, G-nitro, Papabear, Evigilant, and Tamago86's posts.

back in the days I was really into k-pop, and found lots of interesting things on Soompi. Then one day I came across the forums and here I am

I'm Filipino.

I came to Soompi because my original home forums (bjunkyard and solid07) kept going down for weeks at a time. I eventually came over here and made Soompi my home forum. I mostly stick around the "jitterbox" in the college forum and the anime/manga and games forum. I do wish there was more variation among the gamers though. They all seem to like only Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts.

Best friend gave me a link to this site whent here were album previews in November of '99. Heard S.E.S. 3 and YG "Best". And I always kept up with soompi for news, and eventually tried out the forums in 2002, and got hooked.

I join soompi originally because of the drama section. I was searching for site that has more info on drama and found soompi. Then I stop since drama sections toooo big for me now. Also I got into their fanfix section as well then went into other sections.

I met some nice people over year ago and still remain in contact. I am the same ethnicity as soomp!

I first signed up for soompi because I was really into k-pop, then I met some really cool people here which kept me comming back. A lot of those people are gone or hardly come on now But I've managed to keep in touch with a couple. Recently, I've been comming to Soompi to get my pop culture fix. I'm a total pop culture junkie, especially when it comes to tv shows like Grey's Anatomy.

I found Soompi back in 1999 because it was like, the only Korean site that had mp3s back then Plus soompi was cool and even sent me mp3s via email when I requested it (i do not encourage anyone to do this)

chinese. came here cuz i wanted to learn about kpop, which i did. but now i'm not quite as interested in it anymore and i just come here cuz it's active.

I'm Filipino-American, born a Jersey product but principally bred in southern California the majority of my life. I'm one of the few soompiers that can claim to have been alive when the moon didn't have a human footprint on it.
I came to soompi around 4 years ago or so as a refugee from another kpop-related bulletin board (MVH.com) after it had gone defunct. I heard about soompi from other members of that forum that were also members in here. So I guess this makes me a sort of FOAB (Fresh Off Another Board). I used to like kpop and watching kpop videos early on, but not so much anymore. But thanks to the diversity in topics in here, there's always something to talk about, not just kpop.

True to hermitic form, I like to wander from subforum to subforum, posting some kind of inane comment or another. Whether that's good or bad, I don't know. But I'm still here, plugging away.

why soompi? i completely forgot how i stumbled upon this site now that i'm trying to recall ... i was never really a big fan of k-pop, though i've grown to like it more now (and of course k-dramas! ) think maybe i stayed for the mp3's when we still had it ... and because hermit's replies were funny i'm usually on the 20+, food, health, and anime/video game sections.

I joined soompi as soon as I got into k-pop, about 6 years ago. Soompi has always been the site that gives me the most updated k-pop info. And now I am one of those who is doing the updates.

Got into kdrama and found out about soompi from a korean friend, back in the days when there were less "omg XXX took off his shirt!" threads or "vote for the guy with the hottest 6-pack" polls. Been here since 2002, it's still the best place to look for k-ent stuff. I also like the layout, it's not as clustered as some of the other forums, the color combination somehow works in here.

Came here because of K-Dramas, found the beautiful pictures of the 411 section which is now non-existent. stayed because other forums sucked. Solid07 went down!

I came here cause I was amazed @ the quality of korea's entertainment industry, and cause my best friend (who's korean & we're both inter'ntl students @ our uni) doesn't really discuss korean's market, music, etc with me.... nor does she think its so great - (because she doesn't think korean movies can compete w/ hollywood, and the animators here get a better deal than the ones in Korea where the japanese producers get all the credit, etc her rants are LONGGGG.....) Which is odd for me, cause I'm always putting it up and she's sort of pushing it to the side

i first came here to get updates on k-dramas and k-pop on the main soompi site about 3 years ago...it took me forever to find out that there was an active forum (about 1 year later ).
i like here cos there are so many interesting sections not just about k-pop, and i met a lot of friends here too.

I found Soompi around 2000 when I was really getting into kpop. I don't think I joined the forums until 2002 tho.

I'm "white, not of Hispanic origin" according to standardized test and the like, but I'm really Irish/German/Slovenian/Hungarian.

I found out about Soompi from another forum I used to frequent. I was also getting into k-pop and j-pop. I don't really listen to it much anymore. I only really used to browse the 20+ and philosophy forums. Unfortunately the philosophy forum was closed, ( <insert rant> ). When I first was posting here there were some other posters that I enjoyed posting with and that's why I'm still here. Sadly, some of those people don't post anymore. =\

i'm ethnic Chinese, and born in Thailand. i've been a longtime kpop fan... since H.O.T's early days (think "Candy")... i'm not a big kpop listener anymore, though... but i got hooked on the dramas a few years ago.

i used to visit solid07 for music and entertainment news... i first visited soompi way back in its early days. i've only been relatively active in the forums for a little over a year (even though i was a member much longer than that).

now... i mostly visit the kdrama section for news and such... and even do a little business in the selling/trading section.
