babiichink
i wanna learn how to figure skate =P i find just skating on the rink hard.. any tips =P
SpicyTOFU
ice skating is hard....rollerblading is even harder (and scarier) =_=
hahahaha...
xxingy_XP
I used to.. but then I stopped right before I was going to start the jumps. I think the hardest trick I can do right now is the shoot the duck thing. BUt.. that's not very hard. SO... in conclusion... I suck. I kinda regret quitting now, but I probably wouldn't have gotten very good. I'm too clumsy for my own good, even on land. Imagine me being on a slippery surface. Not good, I tell you.

I like watching Figure Skating, I believe its an art.
minjung313

SOJOONGHAE(:
i did figure skating for 4 years and then i quit couple years ago cause my lungs were to weak. i was 7 when i started and i quit when i was 11 (two years ago) and i was ending my doubles. fury.gif but it was really fun for me. i really liked it. i wanted to start again but doctors said no tears.gif
crackednut
I don't skate...but I've been watching it since I was young

favorites have to be Michelle Kwan (yea!!) and Alexei Yagudin

I remember I was soooo psyched when I finally was able to go watch him skate at a Stars on Ice show
unfortunately, I did not go again this year boo~
pinochio
OMG.......I can't belive that you had the chance to see him skating.....well almost to see him. What do you guys like the most:women's,men's,pairs or dance???
x.cheska
i figure skate.
but i've been only doing it for two years and i only skate 4 times a week so yeah.
im just landing my doubles. i remember the 1st time i tried a double salchow... i landed it haha .
because double salchows are so easy.. and the 1st time i tried double loop i landed it too
but the 1st time i tried a double toe loop... i felt right on my head
the 1st time i tried double flip, i went really REALLY high so i got scared in the air & i almost fainted for being so high LOL
the 1st time i tried a double lutz... I POPPED IT lol
well the 1st time i tried anything, my coach didnt tell me to or anything or gave me instruction
i just tried it by myself... which was a HUGE MISTAKE especially with the double toe... my head hurt like HECK! arg.
but my spins... hehe ~ i can do like any spin there is
i dont know why.. and i nail those biellemans and those special spins.
but i think its because im really really flexible.

some ppl say i should've been a ballerina, but then again, you have to be like SUPER SUPER SKINNY.

Who watched Kim Yu Na tonight?

Man... her lower back. ;[
She skated beautifully, excluding those tumbles.
You could tell she wasn't going to hit the triple lutz before she even started it.

She... is seriously cute, though.
eternalesnow
Yeah - she got 3rd. But way to go for Asian sweeps. Japan's Fumie Suguri and Mao Asada took gold and silver, Korea's Kim Yu-na got bronze. There was a Japanese silver medalist in Men's Figure Skating and a Chinese gold medalist duo in pairs.
gary
^ it's miki ando who got first.

and don't ask me how i know that. i just do

I always begged my mom to let me skate when I was little

She said NOO, and told me I would fall and have my hand cut off

Now I watch Takahashi Daisuke skate and I fell in love with him and skating all over again

It wouldnt be wierd for me to start learning how to skate at 18 would it??

Jeffrey Buttle is the world champion!!!
I still can't believe it. He did a totally perfect skate and win the short and the long program.
I'm so proud of him. He was fantastic. The choreography was marvelous and I just love how he felt the music.
What a great skate!

I really need to catch up on figure skating news.
He's awesome though.
And he's Canadian! w00t.gif

Everybody should watch this though. It's the Four Continents Gala presentation in Korea, and it was very entertaining to see all the skaters together on ice... Laughing with each other and everything. <3 I especially love the beginning with the girls vs. boys bit, and then the Jeffrey Buttle men's pair jump throw. Ahhhh~ That was so cute~~
chinese tears <3
I know how to skate without falling, but that's it haha. I really wanted to learn how to skate when I was little cause I looked up to Michelle Kwan a lot and read these skating club books, I forgot what they were called haha. I don't think I would ever be able to get anywhere with skating though... I'm very inflexible. x_x;; I just like to skate for fun.

I love Asada Mao! I saw her skate on Saturday and she had a really horrible fall; it was pretty amazing that she still pulled into first. I remember I saw her first in this show thing with Ichiro, but I had never seen her skate before that haha.
hamster428
^ yeah, like she didn't even jump yet... but i absolutely adore that girl <3
my mom was watching some of it and she was like, "the sport has improved so much since michelle kwan's days" and i was like, "ppshh, why you gotta dis my michelle like that?" lolz but honestly, my mom needs to stop picking on michelle dry.gif

i thought the marks for the other japanese girl (who got 4th) was really unfair though. her technical mark was wayyyy lower than what she deserves. i felt like they just didn't wanna push yuna kim down to 4th ph34r.gif
candiegurl25
honestly this world championship really had me upset from pairs to the men. what had me most frusturated was the scores that the italian girl in second got. Wat was her name Caroline or something like that. I felt that she shouldnt have places second or third she should have been in 4th and the japanese skater in 4th should have been in second. God i forgot her name and she was one of my favs.

watching the men was a little scary everyone was falling or tripping, maybe they should have smoothed over the ice. I cant believe Takahashi Daisuke came in fourth. Im so sad!! He really is my favorite skater in the whole world....well until next season.
tvxqsaranghae
i watched the championships in sweden over the past 2 days on TV too! now im determined to learn figure skating! only the thing is, i havent skated since 7 years ago O_O and i only passed the 1st level back then which taught the really basic stuff.... if i start all over again now, how long will it take me to master regular skating? like how long will it take for me to get into figure skating? im 16 now, turning 17 at the end of the year =__= is it too late?
