Michelle Wie is only just starting out
she hasn't quite established herself as an amazing athelete yet, nor has she gained the iconic status that Kwan has
Michelle Kwan is without a doubt a LEGEND
and now she's even the first US Envoy for Public Diplomacy
She's done more than just win competitions, which, besides her experience, puts her on a different level above Wie

Michelle Wie has not won anything of significance...yet... When she actually does win, maybe you can start to make a comparison.
I still don't know about competing with the men thingy. She may indeed one day make the cut at a major PGA event. But then what??? She will NEVER WIN a PGA event. The level of competition at that level is too high. She should stick to the LPGA.
And look, I was was wrong about Lebron James being overhyped, overpaid...so maybe I could be wrong about Michelle...but I don't think so....

I don't think they can be compared yet.
And plus, figure skating and golfing are too way different sports.
But, I voted for Michelle Kwan since she's a legend.

Michelle Kwan's been around for awhile and has a lot of accomplishments to her name.
Michelle Wie, like the previous posters, has just started out. Give her some more years of experience.

Considering Michelle's Chinese, I vote for her.
But if I were of impartial ethnicity, I would still vote for her because she's accomplished so much, and now she's a goodwill ambassador and that's just amazing.
Wie hasn't done anything really so far, though I like her clothes. And it's looking like she won't be doing anything. She's no Tiger Wood yet.

I know
but I would vote for Kwan cuz she's one of my fav athletes
regardless of her not winning a gold medal in the olympics
IMO she's a better skater than Kohen, and that Japanese girl who lucked out in the olypics

i like michelle kwan better.
i dont know why but i dont like michelle wie.

Nov 22 2006, 03:02 AM
kwan.. she's prettier.. and shorter.. i dun like tall girls..
and i love to skate too ^^
and she was born like thirty minutes away from where i was born.
and by the "hobbies" information.. Kwan is more of an active person.
and wei seems like more of a passive person.. she plays golf.. reads and draws... you know what i'm saying? ^^
go kwan!!

Kwan. Never even heard of Wie. ....so yeah.

Nov 24 2006, 08:20 PM
definitely michelle kwan: more elegant or nicer. michelle wie i think is too stuck up
nyankeesy01
Nov 25 2006, 08:45 PM
Sasha Cohen. I don't really think Kwan's skating is interesting. But since Cohen's not in this poll, I'd go with Wie.

lol.....sasha's cute but there's something stuck-up about her that turns me off though
anyway, in terms of pure talent, i'd have to go w/ tara lipinsky
now that's one talented skater
but i'd pick kwan over wie since kwan's on a bunch of medals

michelle kwan. It's not only because she's more of a known athlete/celebrity, it's just that she's made a mark on the sport forever.

michelle kwan, great inspirational role model to me when i was going up, i think she has more of a impact on society.

Dec 3 2006, 12:35 AM
hmmmm as a guy...
kwan is prettier but wie can be hotter
but when talking about sports
kwan is very accomplished while wie hasn't proven herself against women yet. however wie is still young so she still has plenty of time
Jeffversion2
Dec 3 2006, 12:41 AM
Kwan is just my hero in a sense, since I remember talking about her when I was younger lol.
Wie I have respect for, but just I think is being a bit too arrogant with her 10 mil right now.

Dec 3 2006, 01:04 AM
Mmm...I'd go for Michelle

.
But you can't really compare the two in terms of accomplishments. I mean...it's ICE SKATING vs. GOLFING. Each hold a forte to their own. But overall, I'd go for Kwan.

Compared to Wie's lack of nose...yes. It's just the whole attitude too. I feel Kwan works harder and doesn't take talent for granted.

i vote for Michelle Kwan. she is a legend. though many would say she is an Olympic disappointed, but to me, she doesn't need a gold Olympic medal to prove her greatness. Kwan is simply the best of the best.
Michelle Wie is pretty new here. she has a potential to go far. Really wish that she would break the gender barrier and become one of the golf legends.

MICHELLE KWAN
For some reason I have always liked
her.. She's really good... SHE THE BEST!

Kwan has won events. Wie has not. Wie tries to over do things such as trying to win on the men's tour when she hasn't won on the women's tour.
Kwan learned how to win and knows how to win, Wie does not. Therefore I pick Kwan.

I voted for Michelle Wie. She sounds Chinese and Kwan korean. but it's actually the other way around.
But who cares? I heard that Chinese people think you can conceive babies without the act of intercourse. OMG, how can you just BELIEVE in GOOD LUCK and HAPPINESS? geez I can't help but laugh when it comes to people thinking China is a threat or something...
They're nicer than any other Asian, but how are they a threat? Other than being a little more old-fashioned than koreans, they are asian too...
So, it used to be I wanna be like Michelle Kwan that's what I want to be called as my nickname, now it's more like
I have no clue where these girls get their names and prestige, but I might as well side with whoever went on Xmen.

Michelle Kwan all the way

She's has had an undeniably more successful career than Michelle Wie has or will have. No one comes close to the perfect 6.0's she's had or her world and national titles. I don't think Michelle Wie has really won that many major events and she's having sort of a slump.

I'm biased so I voted for Michelle Kwan. I just adored her... I met her a couple of times and she is super sweet and much much prettier in person.
I like Wie too, but in terms of accomplishments, she's no where in the level of Michelle Kwan. Michelle Kwan has been in the top of her sport since she was 15!
